Same, I run Nord when I’m away from home and sometimes it just seems to need a ‘reset’ especially when transferring off the wifi at work back to cell on the way home.

I was looking for a way to setup a route in my UDM to access something on my desktop while out of the house. Unifi was all "Yo, download WiFi Man and just hit the Teleport button." So, I tired it and damn. Sure enough. One click, works. I'm just amazed when things actually work these days.

Wow ! We could get 2g up/dn here and I initially signed up for it then realized I would have to replace pretty much everything and it's not worth the effort.
Perhaps I'm actually growing up or getting old?

I bought some UniFi entry sensors and a PoE chime. Really easy to set up alarms and actions, but pretty disappointed in the chime volume. It says 80 dB which isn’t going to make my wars bleed or anything, but it still seems very low. No volume control in Protect app that I can find (in this setup).

You definitely have to buy a bunch and put them in various rooms. I ended up not using any. I bought a couple intercom viewers, and that was good enough for us. With the access app, you can have it ring your phone and show you video on it too.

Yeah I could see that being the case. This was more a test for MIL house. She wanted chimes and am “alarm” system, but not something monitored and monthly cost and a big wall control panel and everything.
Wanted to test this setup so she could have a door sensor on her main entries and a chime that would let her know if someone came in while she was working in her pottery studio or office. It definitely wouldn’t wake her up at night. They make the Siren for that so could try it.
The doorbell and chime kit was OOS last week when I was ordering but will put an in stock notification. Is yours the regular Intercom Surface (UACC- whatever?), how does that compare to just doing G4 Doorbells with video? She doesn’t really want “access” control like electronic strike and latch, she wants to go more the protect route.

I'm using the g6 Entry pro. It has an interface for their Protect and Access platforms. That was I can act as a security camera and a doorbell. The access part also lets it interact with the intercom viewer. Check out this product on the UniFi Store:

It's the success of a one of those old iPhones. You can put them all over the place without it looking obtrusive. I didn't think it only works with the g4 unfortunately, it would with the g2 and g3. I really like the g6. It's easy to install and the camera is amazing. Also even, even though I'm I'm Chicago right now, I can still answer the door or see who's walking around my house without paying for a 3rd party service. The camera is also really good.
Another thing you consider is that we have our phones on us most of the time. If you install the access app on her phone, she might be able to use her phone as a chime reducing you need for as much coverage.

I somehow missed the G6 Entry, maybe because I wasn’t looking at Access stuff at all, but the regular G6 Entry looks nice and can still use the Intercom Viewer apparently without having to worry about electric door access stuff. May pick one of those up to test out here at the house. Most of this stuff I’m just approaching from the standpoint we’ll use it at our house even if she doesn’t want it.I'm using the g6 Entry pro. Yeah, the g6 Entry is definitely a decent option. I really like the series. My wife likes it too. When we got the house, it came with a standard Panasonic doorbell system. We had an intercom in the kitchen and a portable one in the master bedroom. However, we could never find the portable one or had to be in the kitchen to see who was at the door when the doorbell rang. With the new arrangement, we can increase the number of intercoms as needed and we also have our phone an option. Best part of you can do it all by yourself without a professional installer as long as you set up the conduits properly.

Thanks. Ordered one to try out. Running out of PoE ports on my little TP-Link for testing. Too bad the Pro XG doesn’t fit.

That sucks. I use the ultra and flex Poe in a lot of places because most things don't need the 10g speed. I have the pro xg 10 and 8. The 8 might fit your space if you need a desktop/utility switch. The xg 8 gets really hot, so be sure to have enough ventilation around it.

Yeah I ran from my upstairs equipment closet, out the attic, down the soffit, under the house, and back up into the living room and dropped a Flex PoE to have wired + PoE available. The U7 mesh, Roku, and PS5, Switch are plugged through it.
