Caught this movie on Netflix streaming, and it's definitely different. On the surface it's about a used tire that comes to life and starts killing people up with "psychokinetic" powers. It has a lot of subtle, and not so subtle, symbolism about the movie industry and the audiences that support it. Found it surprisingly entertaining but seems to be an either love it or hate it type of movie

i gave it 20 minutes and it was a little too "meta" for me. i did not not hate it so much, it just did not interest me.

It has its moments, but it's about an hour too long and the meta level feels like a cop-out or even cowardice (scared to tell an actual story) more than anything. Even the poisonous beauty of Roxanne Mesquida cannot save it!

Best part of the movie, this track:

PS: One of the earliest movie by Dupieux was also a meta-fest. Titled 'Nonfilm', it had the politeness of lasting only three quarters of an hour and the plot (a kind of behind the scene look at a movie shooting that goes south) worked a lot better.
