They literally want to destroy everything they are incapable of becoming: Happy, successful, powerful, desired by others, etc.
They want us to see characters who represent themselves (ugly, out of shape, despicable, degenerate, and disgusting creatures) as the Hero (or at the very least, the new "normal") in order to shame us for our beauty, strength, courage, etc. The problem is their refusal to accept the Truth of how real human beings, the vast majority of us, see the world. And I think it just might be because they literally can't comprehend how to just be happy, or how to work towards success by accepting and learning from your failures, or actually wanting to fit in through a "When in Rome" mentality as opposed to their "Force everyone to accept and include me, by force if necessary, and call them racist/fascist etc. when that fails" attitude.
