The 30 days shit is kind of a non-issue, although it took people digging through the files with hacked consoles to figure out what it was before Sony actually came out and explained it. Basically, you have to login once after 30days to register the game to your account permanently. The goal is to counter something people used where they'd buy a game, refund it then stay offline to play the game for free. It's annoying that they had to make the experience shittier for everyone, but it's not what the initial outrage was painting it to be(check every 30 days or lose access).
