I can't think of many shows where I'm constantly aware of how well a shot is composed.

It just feels like A LOT of thought went into every scene.

Just finished season 2. I will echo a lot of what other people said. I love the concept of the show, the pacing, they mysterious storytelling; but it is giving off way too many LOST vibes. That show hooked me in and I was a super fan until they fucking ruined it with the last few seasons. I had faith that this could be different until someone in this thread posted that they only had the idea for season 1 and then it was just a whatever. How do these fucking people get shows like this greenlit without a full story arc??? How do THEY not know the ending of their own stories. I will continue to watch because of how well it is produced; but there are many things in this show that are kept a mystery just because people won't talk to each other like normal human beings in these situations would and that makes me think it is going to end poorly.

Whilst this show is a triple A production, I doubt they went "whatever" writing wise. If you've watched the show I think it's quite clear where they want to lead us on. Of course sides stories, dragging on and cliffhangers will happen, and the production team's prior plan will change overtime based of metrics, but I don't think Severance is a long shot about "what if L O S T would make sense???".

the severance head writer admits to visiting the subreddit even tho production told him not to, probably to avoid how shitty lost + fan speculation bled into the later seasons, but he couldn't help himself

That does not inspire confidence.

The Severance head writer also appears to have no other writing credits on imdb other than Severance.

Ugh.

The Best thing they could do is say it's done after season 4. Wrap it up. No new mystery. Let's go

The concept of the show is awesome. Season 2 felt like they just made it up as they went. I think the show needs to wrap up next season at this point. It had an opportunity for a more robust storyline but I think this last season kind of killed that.

Y'all say "Asian" like that explains the weird face. I know lots of Asians who don't look like an insect/alien. She probably bites your head off after sex.

We started a re-watch of Dollhouse since Dichen Lachman was in that, she and Enver Gjokaj are inarguably the only high points of that show. May have to abandon it after 4 episodes because it is hard to get past how terrible Eliza Dushku is. She single handedly ruins that show. Even Amy Ackerman, Tamoh what’s his name, and generic nerd guy that went on to be in Cabin in the Woods bc Joss Whedon felt bad for him I suppose are trying their best, but all of them combined can’t counter balance the blandness that is Eliza.

Shame. It was a cool show.
