Call him Joel Wick.

Trailer looks like a decent action flick.

A very straightforward '70s style vigilante movie. The somewhat pointless twist is that there is no dialogue. The justification for it is that the main character is rendered mute after being shot in the throat. It's not the first film to try something similar and it's hardly ever good. At least here the movie still flows somewhat nicely and scenes do not seem too unnatural (there are still things like cop radio chatter or interjections). The action choreography and film making are unremarkable, which, it is sad to say, is a big step up from John Woo previous effort, Manhunt (2017), that was an insanely disjointed mess.

PS: If your child got killed by a stray bullet fired in a gang war, why would your revenge involve reckless driving and gunfighting in the streets?

Not even 10% of the movie Death Sentence 2008 was, despite plagiarizing and remaking several scenes while recycling the plot and setting.

More poor in every regard. Only recommend a viewing if you have nothing else to watch-- and in that case just give Death Sentence a spin.

Does it have some really good action sequences 2/3rds in?

Sure.

It's a little more spectacle than you get in Death Sentence. But the overall backdrop, characters, and bad guys are forgettable schlock.

Fuck this piece of shit movie.

I had hopes for this one and that didn't last long. As jayrebb jayrebb said. Just watch Death Sentence.

Fuck Hollywood and their rehashed shit.

Nic Cage nailed the mute character in Willy's Wonderland but otherwise I'd agree.
