Humour is so much better in Tropico 3.I adore the humor in it though. The advisors in Tropico are fantastic. Everything is voiced and colored with exaggerated communist/capitalist overtones.
TL;DR My concerns may be dated.

Very high. But like all online games the emulation will be incomplete. However for simcity because the amount of information the server needs to provide is so minimal you could easily have reasonable gameplay with a very dumb server. Really the big question is how much effort modding groups will go to in order to create a SimCity server and how much effort EA lawyers will do to shut it down.http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013...y/#more-145460
What are the chances someone will emulate servers in the future ?
I wouldn't be surprised if EA wanted something like The Sims model, the base game works, but expansions can be added all over the place. Ingame ads, maybe some corporations will want their chains in the game and so on ...Should having hour long play limits during the beta been a warning sign? It seemed like a very secret, restrictive beta compared to most other games. We saw the same thing with MMOs: the ones that turned out terrible are the ones that strictly limited information release and had short, limited betas.
It seems like some (one?) Maxis people are secretly leaking the truth to media. This is the 2nd time. Maybe Maxis knew the game was incomplete, wanted more time to work on the AI, etc, and EA forced them to release. Wouldn't be a surprise. Maxis generally makes good, solid games, so something this dumbed down might be a compromise due to time restrictions enforced by EA. After all, if you look at a situation and determine the best decision, you can guarantee EA will do the opposite.
Some do as usual, but also no. There is nothing unusual or crazy going on that says omg I need to reconnect to the outside world right now because disconnecting it fucked it up!How has it effected your traffic? Do people try to leave your city and just drive around in circles?
Chances of this being intentional (shit server issues) because they knew (how could you NOT) that their game was bugged to shit and not very good, allowing them to take the heat off to "fix" things; aka, live beta.I think the server issues just might be a boon to EA. Everyone is up in arms over that and probably paying less attention to how terribly designed the AI is. This sort of thing on a smoothly-launched game would be catastrophic to the game. Instead it doesn't get all that much attention.

I believe casinos/tourism are known to be bugged at this time.I have no idea wtf is going. Made a city centered aroudn tourism, and i was getting mad $$$ setting up events and whatnot, tourists were flowing all over. All of a sudden, interest for the shows dropped to barely anything. I have 100k pop, minimal traffic congestion, no problem in the city, there is just no tourists flowing in anymore AT ALL. I destroyed most of my cultural attractions, re specialized to casinos, and same thing, not a single tourist into any of the casinos.
I have no clue what the fuck.
