I don't think I am overreacting to it. I have gotten on two people in recent memory, both well deserved imo. Aside from him I can't remember the last person I RRPd, much less the last one for racism. I don't think it is fair to compare adults using someone elses site who are well aware of community standards but want to push the boundaries because of immaturity or boredom or whatever with toddlers. Well, maybe it is, but it shouldn't be.

The "silly thing" in question is not the word itself, but defying the expectation that you abide by established societal norms and not spout dumb racist shit all the time is. The fact that someone has to be told "Hey guy, posting American Inventor and chimpout and whatever else all the time is unacceptable" is silly. This is silly. We are having a silly discussion.

That's between you and him. Really I think he is pretty much done with the idea of the shaw as some kind of social club for lovable misfits, and I don't think he agrees that our misfits are all that lovable.
