Even reading about Suarez admitting he's a cheating bastard and Rodgers (possibly inadvertently) saying it's in his character to be a cheating bastard didn't cheer me up today.

Football really is a shitty sport, Adkins was fired today. Why didn't they do it a month or so earlier so Forest might have snapped him up. It's obvious they had this in hand for a while as 2 defeats in 12 games and 2-2 away to Chelsea isn't really a sackable offence...

Agreed - Southampton is fucking insane to fire Adkins. He was doing excellent with what he had, and is coming off a great draw at the Bridge.
Walcott gets a 100k a week deal - too much money in my opinion. When Wilshere is on 85k a week, how the fuck is Walcott making that much more? Sets a terrible precedent for future players to "hold out" in the hopes that you can scare Arsenal into paying what you want, not what you deserve.
I like Walcott as a player, but 85-90k sounded about right to me. They clearly didn't want to let anybody else go.

Living in Southampton I can say that obviously the decision has not been taken very well, saw this comment on my FB feed earlier:

BBC is saying Adkins found out he was fired when the press told him.
I could maybe understand if the replacement was some all singing all dancing super manager but he was a chap who has only managed a single team who were near the bottom of the table in November when he was fired? Oh well, we shall see I suppose.

ESPN reporting that Adkins was as good as done the moment they won promotion. Too bad, the fan's support for him was impressive.

I don't understand these teams. What are your expectations? When Adkins got Southampton promoted, it was an achievement in itself. Sometimes, I think it is better not to get a team promoted in the Championship because you are most likely going to be fired the next season when the team inevitably struggles in the Premiership. That is natural.
Well that was a pretty emphatic thumping by Liverpool, topped only by an honest to goodness goal from Michael Owen!

I don't think Barca has won at that place in like 3 years or so regardless of the Pique sending off.
As far as LFC, not sure what the deal is with us playing Norwich but fuck do we look good against them. If Suarez/Sturridge keep playing like this I like our chances for the Arsenal/ManC games.

Holy shit Martin Atkinson is a godawful referee. A clear free kick on Coquelin, by Ramires, was just brushed aside and let Chelsea counter for the goal.
