International news, thought Engerland looked alright in the second half against Brazil once they brought on the Ox. Injected some energy into the side. First half was a massacre. Rooney had a great goal as well.

USA still looks like piss - not sure why everyone was hooting and hollering about barely beating a 2nd/3rd string Germany. It's notable, but we didn't play particularly well, and Germany looked awful. That own goal was fucking amazing. Good to see Jozy scoring again though. Still think the run in to getting that WC spot will be dicey. We'll see.

Going to start a new thread, I think sans La Liga promotion every major league is done at this point or should I want until the international transfer window opens on July 1st?

Edit: Martinez is promising a UCL spot, fucking laughable....

Great end to the game - thought we'd surely drop the 2 points. We'll qualify now I reckon, but we've looked poor. Jozy playing well again is a great sign though..

USMNT showing some signs of life tonight. Jozy playing much better last few games, and Michael Bradley living up to his potential (seemingly). Liked how Cameron played tonight as well in the middle. Mexico has been absolutely shit for a month, and we have a game or 2 in hand on them as well....

Transfer stuff - If Levy somehow tricks Perez into paying 80m for Bale he should be made king of fucking England. Don't think there is a ton of substance in that rumor, but the fact its even being mentioned is insane to me. Think RM spend about 40m and get Suarez perhaps.

Barcelona footballer Lionel Messi and his father are being investigated in Spain for allegedly defrauding the state of more than 4m euros (?3.4m). The 25-year-old Argentina forward and his father, Jorge Horacio, are suspected of filing fraudulent tax returns for 2007-09, officials say.

The player and his father are accused of three crimes of defrauding the state of taxes related to income from the use of his image. They are suspected of using companies abroad - in Belize and Uruguay - to sell the rights to use the image. The accusation is that with the help of firms based outside Spain, where he lives and plays club football, Messi and his father avoided paying more than 4m euros in tax.

The investigation comes as the Spanish authorities step up their efforts to clamp down on tax fraud, as the government tries to balance its budget during a continuing economic crisis, the BBC's Tom Burridge in Madrid reports.

Absolute joke of a bid. Have to think there is something behind it re: Higuain/RM; RM/Suarez - as 30m isn't close Suarez' value. Not sure why Pool fans on twitter are taking it so personally though - player wants out and he's a proven commodity in England. Queue Chelski coming in w/ 40m bid this week followed by RM paying 50m. Would definitely rather have Suarez than Higuain (in spite of his, ahem personality), but Arsenal can't afford him.

Arsenal want Higuain (And know they have no chance of getting Suarez)
Arsenal think Real Madrid want Suarez
Arsenal think by bidding for Suarez, Real Madrid will sell them Higuain so that Real Madrid can buy Suarez.
