So discovered this relatively recently when jamming out to a lot of retrowave, and really good shit to listen to while coding or working. It seems a little different than synthwave, so I put it in its own thread, though they are somewhat similar I suppose. I used to enjoy Koto and stuff in the past, I thought this was long by the wayside, but seems its made a comeback in the last 5 years. It actually reminds me of old school demo scene mods and s3ms on the Amiga, and I'm pretty sure some of these are modern compositions of them.
