it will be kinda hilarious if this does more than doomsday

i watched civil war last night to get back into spidey, man 10/10 GOAT movie they just don't make them like that anymore. I'm not sure what to watch next, I am not really that interested in Homecoming or Far From Home, I don't really remember them being that great. Will definitely watch No Way Home and Infinity War, i think thats all you really need before Brand New Day to catch up and remember his story?

Was spidey in Multiverse of Madness at all, I literally remember nothing from that movie other than Wanda going ham on alt-verse mutants

Apparently the new Daredevil show which I keep meaning to get to as the second season is apparently pretty good. I did see the Punisher "One Last Kill" thing, it didn't totally work tbh, and he won't be that disturbed in a mainline MCU film. If you haven't seen the other Spiderman movies they are not bad. Homecoming is good for Keaton and Far From Home for Gyllanhall. Its the one aspect they got right with em in that the villains are all actually good, and its as close to comic Mysterio we will probably get in our lifetime.

She-Hulk for Banner if you care, I havent seen it tho. He was not in MoM, that won't tie in here.

Spoiler free.

It's a fun Spider-Man movie with some issues in plot and resolutions.

daredevil season 2 is great but punisher isn't in it at all and i doubt it will have any impact at all on the new spidey movie. Thanks for reminding me of the 1 hour Punisher 1 shot though, I gotta watch that. I have seen all the spiderman movies but not sure I really wanna rewatch them, just the third one seems like a good refresher with the forget spell.

No chance i will ever watch She Hulk, I doubt most people have so I can't imagine its gonna be required watching.

I'm just hoping they'll give maybe at least a sentence explaining how we went from Professor Hulk in Endgame (and apparently in She Hulk which I didn't watch) to "has to wear a SmartWatch to keep the big green monster at bay" in this movie. (which is akin to the Amadeus Cho "Hulk Pip Boy" it looks like.

Saw a review that was spoiler free that said this movie is the best Spider Man Action in a movie to date and right there with the feeling of the Spider Man action sequences in the Sony game. So I think that's a positive. That review also said there were probably 50% more cameos than needed to be in the movie. But that's kinda to be expected in this day and age apparently.

Hopeful for this, but I don't see how it will beat Doomsday unless it ends up having great legs on it and Doomsday just doesn't. But I'm looking forward to it and Mrs. Haus Mrs. Haus has already booked us seats to catch it around Saturday lunchtime.

It's like they're rubbing salt in our wounds...

"We know few people really like Zendaya as MaryJane Watson (and that we always just call her MJ and wont call her the name), but to drive home the point we're going to cast the actress who would most easily be a PERFECT MaryJane.... as Jean Grey, AND put her in a Spiderman movie for effect."

Pretty good movie but not amazing. Feels similar to black panther 2, in that it's a carthartic epilogue to previous movie, though not nearly as mopey.

Action sequences were good but most lacked any real emotional stakes so felt a little on the flat side.

Probably should have been half an hour shorter.

End credit scene isn't worth waiting for.

She's a 6/10 from a streaming show that became a dogshit tween romance by the time she showed up.

They've been pushing zendaya for way longer than you guys think. I remember them talking about her before 2010

I've successfully avoided this thread ever since the first trailer was released.

I just got home from watching it at a Regal RPX 3D theater. I loved this movie. It really was a Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man in every sense of the name. God damn was this enjoyable. Now to re-read this entire thread and see what you guys said early on.

I'll be there opening night. And I'll also buy the steelbook opening night, because that falls under Sony distribution and not Marvel. So it goes on sale the same day the movie hits theaters, then quickly sells out.
From way back on the first page, I kept my promise. But unfortunately, they didn't list the Blu-Rays yet. They did for No Way Home, but I guess not really for this one.

And lastly, spoiler that isn't really a spoiler. I'm still going to put behind a click.
So I sat through all of the credits. It was different than MCU movies of the past because there was no mid-credits scene. Additionally, the movie COMPLETELY ends, then suddenly something happens. It doesn't really spoil anything, but what appears is a very vague reference to Doomsday. That's it.

This is probably my favorite Tom Holland Spider-Man movie. Sure it was great to see the other Peter Parkers in 2, but this was great for the same reason I thought Thunderbolts was - it was just a good movie that also had superheroes in it, instead of a story with kid gloves on for all ages careening from set piece to set piece.

Sadie Sink was also a lot more involved in the plot than I expected her to be, and was really good as well.

I mean he's a 5'5 twink. It's probably hard to find a guy older than 12 his size. And I don't think 12yo can be employed as stunt men.
They used a jacked midget girl to play Matt Damon's stunt double in The Odyssey. The image of giants was not CGI at all. The director hired people over 7ft tall, and she is like 4'7 or something. Not children, but might as well be.

Let's be honest, the entire conversation is going to be about one character. I think everyone on earth already knows who that character and actor is, but to keep it vague:

I think it's weird to reboot that character before the very next Marvel product brings all their original cast back.

I think it's weird to introduce that character with no backstory as to how their powers are granted.

I think it's fucking bizarre to not only introduce them as an antagonist, but as a flat out villain. They're tied for the highest kill count in the goddamn movie, plus mass reckless endangerment / attempted murder, right? Unless they are implying the
Phoenix Force
is already in play in the MCU, it creates a scenario where unless this character is on a redemption arc from minute one of their next appearance, they've created an 'antihero' that is even more toxic than Ironheart.
