Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026)

Just a bit short of a new record (and I don't expect some crazy Sunday actuals), but still wildly impressive. I'm sure if it had IMAX it would have broken the record.

Infinity War was 2018. Endgame had a time jump and took place in 2023. Far From Home -> No Way Home in 2024, as there was no time between the two films. (COVID messed up the release schedule for a lot so real time has caught up some).

Wonderman, GoTG3 post credits (Peter on Earth + Rocket led team), Thunderbolts after saving Sentry, F4 arriving in our universe, and this Spiderman film takes place in 2028. Its assumed Doomsday will also be 2028.

People really give a shit about accurate time stamps in a series that's done nothing but flip flop through multiple timelines? That's what you're going to nit pick? Fucking nerds.

You're god damn right it was. I saw it in a Regal RPX theater, which uses RealD glasses. These are glasses without batteries. I actually own a pair of clip-on glasses that work with my 3D TV, and they are RealD, so the same technology. I just carried them in, and it worked perfect. I carried in the glasses they handed out, just in case, but I didn't need to use them.

The video was great for this. No dizziness at all, and plenty of depth seen throughout. You won't be upset seeing it in 3D.

The only Marvel movies they ever officially shot in 3D were from Phase 1 (starting with Hulk. Iron Man 1 wasn't offered).
Anyway, they film it standard, then do editing after the fact to convert it to 3D, and it looked great.

Can we go back to blaming comic book fatigue? It's a thing right ?

GoTG 1 was really well done in 3D the others sucked. Avatar 3d has been trash out side of 1. There is a new stop motion coming out I might go see but I'm not sure if it's even 3d

It started because industry felt that 3D glasses like in Imax, took away some of the crisp colors. At least that's what the industry who was selling shit believed. So they came out with this technology with "active 3D", meaning each lens flashes open and closed something like 60 times per second, so you don't actually notice it while wearing them, and the movies actually play a full slide of left then right then left then right over and over again that matches the 60fps that the glasses use. So technically, 120 fps, because it's just going back and fourth between both sides.

So yeah, I prefer passive 3D, which is what that regal system and IMAX 3D uses. Although, there's actually a "new" IMAX 3D that uses laser projectors, and the light frequency coming off of the screen displays different for left and right eye. So it technically has both eyes playing in the same slide, but the lenses themselves are only able to play an even or odd frequency of light, so there's no polarization in play. Same bright colors as no glasses, but the new clear 3D glass lenses only show one side of the frequency per lens. It's very new tech, and most theaters don't even have it yet. Additionally, they don't sell that "new" IMAX 3D technology to independent glass manufactures yet, as theaters seem to lease the use of the bagged glasses they hand out.

Spider-man is like Batman. You have to be grossly incompetent to make a truly bad movie with him (ASM2 or Schumacher Batman). This was pretty good. Glad they got them aged up to adulthood somewhat. He’s way more believable at 22 or so than 18. Handled Punisher about as well as you could at Pg-13. I actually think the punisher could carry an MCU R rated movie with daredevil or Spiderman.

Anyway - 8/10 for me. Be interesting how they rationalize mutant hate vs the love for cap and Spiderman.
