I was saying that to a buddy yesterday.

It's amazing how jaded the last year have made me that I immediately thought he was taking her to Epstein's atelier in ep 1.
2nd episode was good. That one girl is a problem, but I like the overall feel of the show.

We finally got through all the gataris, the last bit being Sengoku Nadeko's stuff.

The way the show is, I half expected a bath scene with 5 nadekos and a guest or two piled in the bath together :emoji_laughing:

Oops I thought we were done but there's more Shinobu stuff.

We also finished that show about the sorcerer that buys an elf waifu.

I kept waiting for some heart stabbing plot twist where the elf maiden turned evil or something.

But she just stayed the same sweetheart. I love cozy shows with people in love.

I hear you guys mention animation quality alot and I've never really noticed it much. However we started re-watching the 90's cartoon exo-squad and it is hard to watch after anime. Still love the show though.

Elf isekai show was chef's kiss for all the otaku incels out there. Just pure lust fantasy, even if they don't actually show anything.

As far as animation quality, older shows can't keep up with newer CGI technology. There's so much unbelievable amounts of movement in modern stuff, as opposed to older shows. Just look at how much hair moves around. That would have been many slides PER movement, yet it just constantly flows in the world of CGI.

People can mean different things when talking about animation quality, sometimes it's just about whether it looks good, sometimes it is about appreciation of the amount of work that something took to do, or of clever tricks that people hadn't done before - it's kind of like cinematography awards.

For Black Lagoon, I meant more specifically that the kite scene* in the most recent Witch Hat episode probably has more animation frames than the entirety of any of the Black Lagoon episodes. Expect a lot more static backgrounds with minimal movement in stuff from that era.

* For reference, that kite scene was fucking amazing on several levels.

Not to mention she has to tongue kiss a cat's asshole. It was an odd choice, but aside from that moment, the show was good.
all right

I didn't get what the fuck you were talking about now i get it.

When people were talking about witch hat atelier you were talking about the OTHER witch anime where a girl has to kiss the cat on the asshole to lift his curse and make him human again

Jesus fucking Christ I had no fucking idea what you were talking about.

Yeah, I'm watching both shows. One is on Monday (Pointed Hat Witch) & the other is Sunday (Kissing Cat's Fartbox).

There really is pretty much infinite possibilities of words in just a single sentence lol. CAT FARTBOX....

So uh, which witch show is best? :p (I gave up on that weird mushroom witch one, nothing happened)

Sick with hay fever or something, and caught up on Release that Witch. I enjoy the show for as slow as it is. Like the story has potential. But unless its a 24 episode show (which I doubt) - then I have no idea how its going to get to any of what I would consider the "good stuff" after all of this build up.

I'm kind of glossing over what you guys are saying, but is there anything else thats not a modern day themed show out right now thats a must watch? For some reason I cant get into season 2 of slime.

I have a crazy 26 shows that I like this season. I'm sure it'll drop down sooner than later, but after the first 1-2 episodes of each, I'm really enjoying these.
I decided to elaborate on this list to explain each show... kinda.

Monday:
Farming Life in Another World Season 2 / Self explanatory. It's an ideal show where a dude died and is reincarnated in a new world. He requests to be a farmer and is given a good tool to do everything perfectly.
He also starts building a harem from their other race in that world.

Witch Hat Atelier / Amazing animation. A cloth maker girl always wanted to learn magic. One day she helps a magician with a sewing project, and sneaks to watch him perform magic. Sure enough, anyone could do magic, if they just learned how to do it. Writing with a specific I've = magic.

LIAR GAME / Girl in potentially honest. She unknowingly starts participating in a strange game with one of her old teachers. Everyone is given $100,000 yen. You have to give that 100k back, but if you steal another players money, that's now yours. Interesting concept.

Tuesday:
Even a Replica Can Fall in Love / people randomly have the ability to wish a personal replica into existence. For this story, a girl makes a replica do that it can go to school in her place any time she doesn't feel like going.

I Made Friends with the 2nd Prettiest Girl in My Class / Slice of Life. This nerdy otaku guy loves watching shitty horror movies, but suddenly a hot chick wants to watch them with him.

My Ribdiculous Reincarnation \ A wild show. Very creative, yet insane. Dude dies, and is given the option to reincarnate however he wants, but there's a line. And every "good choice" has a crazy long line, so her decides to to make wild requests. His first reincarnation is as one of the rib bones on the hero's body. Next he choose a hermit crab. Very strange show, but I like it.

Wednesday:
Classroom of the Elite Season 4 / Same as before.

Rent-a-Girlfriend / I think this is the final season. She's a great character.

Reborn as a Vending Machine Season 3 / Same as before.

Re:Zero / Same as before.

Gal's Can't Be Kind to Otaku!? / Another show where the dork kid becomes friends with the hot girl of the class, just because he likes some nerdy shit she also likes.

The Beginning After the End Season 2 / Granted, this is season 2, but I read the light novels and I still don't remember any of this part.

Thursday:
The Barbarian's Bride / Chick is a knight for her kingdom. She is deferred by a barbarian and is forced to become his wife.

Petals of Reincarnation / Everyone who dies is reincarnated, but no one knows they actually reincarnate. And abilities also exist in this world. There's a special knife that exists, that of you kill yourself with it and you happened to have an ability in a past life, you won't die this time and you'll actually be able to restore a precious ability if you had one before.

Haibara's Teenage New Game / Dude is working a job and he suddenly collapsed to the ground one day. When he wakes up, he's in his body from middle school, and chooses to redo his past mistakes.

Friday:
Observation Log of my Fiancée / Sam's story of a girl from earth that isakai's as the female villain character from a game she previously played. But this is through the perspective of the genius male character MC from that game. It's a unique spin on this idea.

Slime Season 4 / Same as before.

Drops of God / Wealthy wine reviewer dies and his son who doesn't drink has the opportunity to inherit his 120 million collection of wine. However, before dying, his father adopted a wine expert. Whoever can correctly determine his wine choices win the inheritance.

Snowball Earth / Elementary School kid becomes the pilot of his father's final type creation in order to save the world from an alien invasion. After deferring the event, he returns to earth, except it's now a frozen planet that went though a second ice age.

Saturday:
Bookworm Season 4 / Same as before.

Strongest Job is Appraiser / guy isekai's as a kid into a world of adventurers that have abilities. But his ability is to appraise people and things.

Blue Killl / World's #1 again is Sting by a generic bee that de-ages his body. His boss recruites him to examine his daughters future middle school.

Daemons of Shadow Realm / Daemons rarely exist in this world. This story is someone that can controlled certain Daemons.

Garden of Gods / Peaceful show of a dude whose writing can eliminate evil spirits. He's able to turn his inherited home into a peaceful garden that gods flock to because of its purity.

Sunday:
Wistoria Season 2 / Same as before.

Black Cat & Witch / Girl wants to be a witch, but isn't very good. Hey magic is the ability to restore. A teacher from magic school is cursed into the body of a cat, but no one realizes it's him. She's the first person able to hear the cat speaking, so tries to help him so that he will help her become a witch. ... And she is required to kiss the cats anus.

Brother I'm not sure you understand what the fuck you are watching sometimes.

You make it sound that everyone in the world has this ability and people randomly create replicas of themselves to fill in.

It seems to be only this one girl and tbh the way this is described and elaborated on makes me think this is a form of split personality/ mental illness and this show is going to shred my heart to pieces.
