The same senator seat had multiple incidents in the last 30 years. Most recent flip was the governor Blagojevich incident trying to sell the seat when Obama vacated, then the time before that was a literal Nigerian scandal with secret visits to their dictator and their fiance being a foreign agent that later fled the US.
A partner-sharing bondage sex club scandal wasn't the usual Chicago corruption but Jeri's husband swore there was nothing damning in the divorce in order to get his candicacy. So when the custody records came out everyone was pissed at him and there wasn't any chance to swap to a backup.

Well when the entire state is a giant ocean of red being politically controlled by tiny blue islands, weird things can happen. Our governor before Pritzker was a Republican and before Blagojevich we had over 20 years of Republican governors. The long reign of senators tends to warp things, one of our senators has been Democrat for over 40 years but that's only two people. The other senate seat has had a lot less stability and has recently been held by a Republican but considering the current trend towards hyper-partisanship and the fact that this retarded state not only elected but RE-elected Tammy Duckworth, I wouldn't expect to see a Republican governor or senator any time soon.

I don't remember that guy at all. I probably wouldn't remember this one but when he first appeared I thought he was John Larroquette.

I could watch Starfleet Academy but i think i'll stick with my TNG rewatch and TOS first time watch, so many episodes and so little time
ratings for this pile of garbage seem pretty bad too, hasn't cracked nielsen top 10 yet. out of curiosity i checked on BTN and episode 1 has 300 total downloads, on a site where Dunk n Egg is sitting at 3000 and Pluribus is sitting at almost 4000. The site tends to lean sci fi so even pirates who can get it for free are passing.

TOS might be too cheesy to watch anymore. I remember trying to watch a bit of it like 10-12 years ago and noped out after about 10 minutes.
