They had already filmed the 2nd season, which is probably the only reason they’ll even show that. Cancellation doesn’t surprise me, though. They aimed for a young audience that isn’t there and sprinkled enough memberberries in the hopes they could get some long time fans to tune in

Hell I thought they were canceled after 1.

now I'm worried next year they'll be telling us it's only getting 3 years but that's because the first 3 seasons were in the can before they started airing season 1.

Well that was quick. I recently downloaded every season of TNG yesterday. I realized it had about 26 episodes a season, so for comparison this shit show got axed just before 1 season.

Has anyone here even given it a chance? I have too much other stuff to watch.

I watched the pilot and snippets of other episodes - it's written and mostly aimed at a younger audience, but because it is using an IP that normally isn't associated with that, it comes across as kind of simplistic.

I'm looking forward to the post Kurtzman era Star Trek to see if we can get back to something more on par with the older Treks.

I don't care if they don't want to do Legacy-- just put him as showrunner of anything Kurtzman has for him. It's a quick bandaid and would build some good-will.

I thought the pilot was ok, but the second episode was so bad I stopped watching.

Yes. It's decent but it was like 6 episodes in before there was an episode that actually felt like star trek. In short, it should have been a brand new scifi property.
