Gosh darn it, I messed up the title again. No idea how to trigger the IMDB title, and I didnt find any TOS threads in search.

i've been watching TOS for the first time in my life, 1 episode every 2-3 weeks basically and while it can be goofy as hell its still fun and its really amazing to think about how it would have completely changed so many kids minds, when all they had were westerns and sit-coms up until this

star trek is now almost 60 years old, crazy

Watching an episode from season 1 tonight with my folks, they watched it as kids.

They were talking about how awful the graphics were, but I also mentioned sure they have bad graphics back then but the writing was good. Meanwhile modern trek has amazing graphics and awful writing. Bad graphics are forgiveable if the writing is good.

If you haven’t watched the r episode mirror mirror yet, it’s probably the best Trek episode I’ve ever seen.

Check out Star Trek Continues on YouTube. Excellent "fan" made series. I quote fan because it's obviously on a level beyond typical fan created stuff. Looks identical to the original series - lighting, sound, etc.

Watched S1 E22 Return of the Archons and Kirk straight up grabbed someone by the shoulders and told them “ACT LIKE A MAN!” Ho Lee shit was it awesome and just… idk not something I have seen in a very long time in modern media so quite refreshing.

also S1 E 21: Court Marshal, the entire premise of the episode was about how the ship’s AI would NOT hallucinate data and that it’s impossible for AI to hallucinate. Oof. I wish. it’s theoretically possibly to stop LLMa from hallucinating data with the proper coding but our billionaire overlords don’t for some reason. Maybe not cost effective.

I want to! My plan is watch all of S1-3, then the movies, then continues, then dive back into TNG.
I watched a few seasons of TNG in 2019 and liked it. Just never spent much time watching TOS.
