Are you wtaching pro SC2 and do you understand the concepts ? Then I think you can look at Apollo's stuff, you don't have to watch them all, just pick the ones that look interesting:ApolloSC2 - YouTube

For bare basics, there's Day9:http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9636F0243659B1D4

If you never played a multiplayer RTS, at least play the campaign and beat the AI. Expert AI is actually surprisingly strong, I think it could demolish quite a few people.

There really isn't substitute for actually playing the game, you won't make your macro better by reading a guide, but by grinding out 50 games. The only exception are hotkeys, especially for zerg and setting up cameras around the map so you can jump between bases without a minimap, I use F2-F6 keys for that.

Keep your mind focused on improving, the game is never imba. Both you and your opponents will make boatload of mistakes, all you have to do is make less than the other guy.

i played starcraft for years and got good at it played SC2 for a few weeks but BF3 was my ioc now i've been watching for the last few years all the tourneys and i understand what there saying about the game. I want to get back in starcraft i miss the game quite a bit but i want to get a better understanding of the game b/c it does look alot more advance then just make a lot of dragoons = win.

I sub apollosc2 am watching terrain tutorial part1 what i dont understand is how to move so fast between units and structures, also understanding what you've scouted. I guess that comes with more game play.

Tenks: You mean "causes cancer" ?

Ah yes, hotkeys, basically if you have to move with your mouse, it's slower than just giving it a control group and doubletapping the key. 1-0 are basic, you need like 4 groups for competent army control and then enough to macro while not losing too much time on it. I think there is some tutorial where you have to do everything without clicking, but I'm not sure. Basically, if you click on icons to upgrade, stim etc. , you are doing it wrong. Eventually it will become muscle memory, just keep doing it.

Scouting is important at the start to know whether the other guy is doing some kind of early game attack like 6pool or proxy gates and once you have a build you want to use, you scout to know if it's appropriate or you have to do something else. I recommend scouting every game around 13-15 supply with a single worker.

It boils down to: Just play

I thought it was kind of fun. For the longest time I wasn't sure who was going to win. Not sure why Firecake went mass muta vs skyterran. Mutas suck even against well upgrade Vikes. Then can just fire forever on 3/3 BCs.

3 reaper BFH is such a sexy opener. If the Zerg can't scout the second factory I have no idea how to reasonably stop it.

Put down the roach warren as usual, why zergs insist on skipping it so often ? It doesn't even cost gas

That 200 minerals slows down everything. If he just opens bio then that is just wasted cost. So if you throw a warren down blindly you are suddenly down 5 drones for no benefit.

150, but I still think going ling only vs reaper/hellion is weird even without blue flame. Lings are so fragile.

Speed lings + creep is a very reasonable counter to 3 reaper + 6 hellion opener. Mvp just didn't show off the bonus Hellions he was making. I'm certain if Firecake scouted the second factory with his OL he would have made the warren. These 3 reaper + Hellion openers are becoming super, super standard in the metagame. If you force a Warren off the fear of your 3 reapers then more than did their job. Especially since the most common follow-up is banshee (cloaked or uncloaked) so if you forced a Warren that basically removes a Queen off the field.

Gratz to Maru, Dear didn't really impress me with his PvT - clumping up templars, going for a timing THEN expanding ? wtf ?

Funny as of today I still forget the drone cost in zerg building...

TERRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNN!

I actually figured Dear was going to wreck this group with Maru coming in 2nd. I thought so because Dear has probably done nothing but prepare for GSL since he wasn't going to any tournaments or didn't have to worry about proleague at all. Plus, both Zest and Soulkey looked quite Mediocre this last round of Proleague.

I'm pretty similar to Sid. I feel Group B is playing for second. I feel all three outside of Jjakji are pretty similar skill-wise. So he's smart to default to Protoss

Welmu impressed very much today. I don't know if TLO getting out of C is a certainty.
