SG-1 is an elite Air Force special operations team, one of more than two dozen teams from Earth who explore the galaxy and defend against alien threats such as the Goa'uld, Replicators, and the Ori.

I SWEAR we had a thread on this and I can't find it now...

Wife and I just finished the world's most leisurely paced rewatch of this series. Still my favorite SciFi series to date, even with the last two seasons (i.e. the Ori arc). Saw this today and felt compelled to post it because of Carter's "magnets".

Nah fuck that hoe drove me nuts. With only cuck Daniel maybe being worse at least early on.

Show could have been MacGyver, Twilk whatever the fuck you spell it, and hammond and all the supporting cast and would have been better most of the time. Yes she had a good episode here and there but most of the time i would have been happier if she took a staff blast to the face.


Show had plenty of other legit hotties, not someone's secret science mommy fetish.

To be honest Hated him too until much later when he started to actually act fairly normal instead of this brain dead attempt at playing basically star trek data mixed with Egyptian alien. So yes I was disrespecting the name since i have no reason to know the spelling from watching the series a few times.

I'll start off with a rating of "Tentative optimistic" since they have Wright and Malozzi involved. Calling it a "unique chapter" in the same universe, I wonder if they're going to tell the pre-SG1 universe of Goa'uld v. Ancient, etc....

They will want an Earth team that goes through the gate I think. Maybe they will do a deep cut where the intro is that quantum mirror from S1 and it will be an alt reality and they can do that


Really I wish they would just use the same universe but Ill take what I can get

I am looking forward to this. Hopefully, given the recent disasters of 2 other expensive shows, that there will be considerably less of a woke message and more of what made the series exciting.

It sounded like they wanted to put the series into this time line but maybe I misunderstood. I might have been reading more into what he said around the 5 minute 20 second mark about taking place today.

Yeah, that seems to be my take on it too, that it will be a "new chapter" of an SG-1 style story based on Earth. When I told Mrs. Haus Mrs. Haus about this her first question was "But who will be the bad guys since they destroyed the Gou'ald, Replicators, and Ori?" But I figure they'll come up with something. I'll also admit that I follow and have actually gotten to have a few occasional interactions with Mallozi via Twitter and he seems like a genuine good guy and SciFi fan, which makes me more comfortable. He's currently doing a series of bracket challenges to find everybody's favorite starship, captain, and first mate. And right now it looks like we're heading towards an Enterprise-D/Kirk/Riker combo that might as well be called the USS Fuckalot.

Stargate is a fantastic IP so glad to see it continue.

That said I really wish they were further along before making this announcement.

Right? Loved Stargate, anyone looking at this new project as anything other than "AMAZON Presents stargate" I dunno what to say at this point.

They will abuse the franchise worse than it ever has been LOL.

A government bailout of MGM would have been preferable. The "MGM an Amazon company" tag is nausea-inducing.

Just waiting for the other shoe to drop on James Bond now that they have full creative control.

So they say not a reboot but also not a continuation, which makes me think they might try a SGU style plot to divorce it from Stargate Command

All I can think of is a team gets sent through a gate and gets stranded and can’t get back to SGC for some reason. But if you have it in our galaxy or Pegasus, that’s a non-starter. So either you do an alternate timeline/dimension or send them to a random galaxy. Timeline/dimension might be easiest, but if it isn’t compelling enough then new fans won’t watch and old fans will clamor for sg1/sga tie ins
