So glad this show is getting a strong female girl power final season it so deserves, and now gay super powers also. What the fuck did they do to this show. Hey should we make a great final 8 episodes to this show, or do we use it as a vehicle to push woke bullshit.

Watched the first episode of season 5 with the wife and even she was rustled with what was going on.
The 80s nostalgia feels way more ham fisted, the 21 year old “kids” are annoying as fuck and nothing makes any sense. My biggest issue is with none of the main characters being the least bit likable anymore.
I can only assume it gets worse from here based on the reviews and comments.

The best part of season 5 is they FINALLY answer that nagging question: how the fuck did Ted bag Cara Buono? Well, his karmic balance finally righted itself in the form of demogorgon collateral.
Otherwise, this season has failed to hold my attention. I'm noticing errors instead of being entertained:
People ask what was the good about the earlier seasons and I'm having trouble coming up with a good answer. I guess the writing and 80's nostalgia was handled better back then? I usually just tell them the intro reminds me of (good)Mass Effect.
- Linda Hamilton is comically villainous. 3 years and you couldn't write a better character?

- Just how many bullets can a demogorgon sponge? Will is shown breaking their bones forcefully, so that M2 mounted on the humvee should have been able to replicate that externally. Shame on whoever did the sound effects for the M2. Seems like 100% tracer rounds would have been something given their weakness to fire.
- How is Eleven still walking around Akers' memory of the military base AFTER Akers leaves in said memory?
- Every scene with Robin is annoying and I don't know if its the actress(who should be better given her dad) or the writing. Or both.
- Hopper not wanting to lose Eleven and sacrificing himself seems like retread of previous story beats.
- How is every main character not under some form of permanent surveillance?
Honest to god, after they wrote in a lesbian character for the sake of a lesbian character...and then emasculated Steve, I dunno what anyone expected from that show after that point. The "Russia" bullshit just seems so...timed...with what was going on in politics at the time that it felt comically absurd.
Steve showed the most character growth of any character I've ever seen on a Millenial slop show. They made that character eat SO much shit just because he was a "Jock" white guy. In the first he was a likable "villain" in the sense that he was a jock that was being a dick, but their turn around for him going from a dude-bro to basically saving everyones lives was impressive, then they turn that around and just start going comically with the direction they chose was weird.

Its really pissing me off since the show started off just fine for kids. Instead they made agood show for a while, got a bunch of kids hooked, and then turned on the gay stuff.
Its actually not OK and pisses me off more than just about any of the shit people complain about modern woke TV. Just keep gay shit away from kids shit, its not that complicated you assholes.

I’m sensitive to language in tv for whatever reason, maybe good maybe bad, probably has to do with having young kids. I just find excessive cussing lazy and unnecessary writing. So, when what’s her name is sitting in the cave talking to this 10 year old girl Holly and’se dropping strings of god damn and shits, etc, it really irritates me. Same thing with something like the Minecraft movie. Zero reason you need any cussing in a kid’s Minecraft movie.

Absolutely, and just like the gay stuff they never even bother having any characters even notice it or react in a realistic way. A parent going "hey watch your mouth", one of the girls looking disgusted at the boys language, something. Instead its we've got a bunch of midwest white kids talking like theyre fucking dockworkers in NYC.
Most normal grownups even in degenerate 2025 don't swear as much as these kids do. I don't think the typical FoH post swears as much as these kids do.

This. The Demogoron can eat every round that the U.S Military has to offer yet is afraid of a middle aged small hat wielding an ax? I grew up in Indiana in the 80s and we swore WAY more than this show. It was absolutely ridiculous how bad we talked back then. Parents let us watch Predator, Aliens, Commando, Full Metal Jacket, when we were eight. All my friends too.
Anyway just finished the first four of this season and man it’s really sucking. Everyone looks old af, Holly went from a six year old background character to a 14 year old main character. The scenes with her are just weird. The end of episode 2 when he closes the door with her then you start hearing clapping noises. Great timing on that song, sound guys.
The home alone montage with the Demigorgon was so stupid.
The constant side conversations with will and robin talking about how gay they are were just terrible. Then the “if you just be happy accepting being gay you can have super powers!” Good lord what a shitfest.
