My wife and I really liked it. But I'm also a sucker for detective noir which this very much tries to be. It's a supernatural detective noir basically. Colin Farrell is great at the very least.

It's dialogue heavy. As long as you can hear the talking and voice over well yes. It's not super complicated or anything but there is some subtle foreshadowing.

With subtitles on sure. You'll have to follow the dialog as Chanur says, there's some action but it's mostly talking.

Happy this is coming back “soon” (June 19th, 2026). Season 1 was pretty underrated and will be interesting to see where they go now.

Fuck me, I thought I had chimed in on this back when Season 1 dropped.
I caught the "twist" pretty early on and had to bite my tongue not to spoil it for the wife. We're looking forward to Season 2.
Also, I'm glad the trailer for Season 2 doesn't give it away in case someone, somehow, missed the first Season.

This is a show that was made for a way worse actor and yet for some reason Colin Farrell is the star. Some of the acting is just like Tubi level bad by the other actors. The writing isn't particularly strong either, but I guess people will keep watching because of the overall "story".

Just going along with the detective noir style made everything way more enjoyable. It was all a touch uncomfortable but believable in an almost Lynchian sort of way. Early Bosch was kind of like that, True Detective season 1 maybe. Season 1 just hit all the right notes (even outside of the big stuff), but I’ve always been a huge Marlowe, Long Goodbye, etc
