Not a bad flick. LOL @ Batman. It's worth a watch if you are bored.

Watched this last night. It wasn’t bad, but I’m not a DC fan boy. Seems like it’d be more enjoyable for someone that is.

As a DC fan boy, especially Superman, it wasn't my favorite. They do some heavy handed sjw manipulation of the graphic novel. It's... Not really the same story. It is and it isn't. It was still OK to watch, my daughter loved the Wonder Woman moments. Batman was way more fanatical, but also hilariously mad (compared to the comic, where he was a lot more mindful, and tries to reach out to Superman from an emotional perspective rather than violence and oppression).

Honestly I'd have to go back and read the comic, I still have the graphic novel sitting on my shelf in a plastic sleeve. I just remember enjoying the book, finished it rather quickly. This movie just... Didn't feel quite like other great DC animated films.

Again, still worth a watch if you've read the comic, are a fan of DC, or Superman. 3/5 as a fan. 2-2.5/5 if you're not.

I watched Red Son tonight. Was a lot better than Fantastic Four: First Steps which I watched early this morning.

However I'm curious as to how much SJW manipulation went into this project.

There was a lot of "men are evil" from Wonder Woman, the evil Superman clone going "America First!" was another. However overall it wasn't bad to being detrimental to the quality of the product, I don't think. Actually, Wonder Woman easily catching Superman's punch like it was nothing felt like some Marvel-style 1980's Hulk Hogan Booking and felt like an unnecessary neutering of the main character (that didn't jive with the existing canon of what their power levels are) so that was one thing that was detrimental to the product and took me out of it.

As for everything else, liked it. I really didn't know what direction they were going with this story. It seemed like they were portraying communism/Marxism as being the faces and capitalism as being the heels, but then they showed the dark side of the Stalin era with the gulags and everything. The uber-capitalist Luthor ended up being a good guy, commie Superman ended up having to confront some uncomfortable truths in his pursuit of wanting equality for all people, and so forth. It felt pretty even-handed overall and actually pretty honest with the way it portrayed these ideologies and characters. I expected it to be a USA good USSR bad story (or maybe the other way around since it came out in 2020), but it portrayed both as shades of grey that wanted similar things while having different ways of pursuing them.

Course I might have missed some stuff, it might not have been as good as it seemed, IDK. It felt like a much more intelligent watch than the infantile First Steps did.
