I read that they updated the ps5 version to perform better when they released the first dlc. Does anyone know if the dlc is required to get the performance update patch or is it a patch to the base game? Going to buy the game soon but was planning to wait on the dlc to make sure I enjoy the game before dropping the extra $15

I don’t know how well it performs after that patch but it was for the whole game, regardless if you have dlc or not.

I decided to go to act3, instead of DLC first. I think I'm 2/3's of the way through act 3. nothing majorly broken or feeling half done. so I suppose most of its been fixed.
I do think there is less alternative completions in act3.
Im pretty sure they did do the acts in sequence.
act 1 is small town, mostly wilderness.
act 2 is a larger town, PACKED with quests and npcs. better Voice acting. there is a weird thing with the Northeast part of the map being totally empty.. barely any quests, just wide open fields. not even monsters. so strange. I can see why people felt this marked cut content. probably was? but the rest of act 2 is packed.
act 3 is now 5 towns.3 of which are in ruins admittedly. but, even more npcs really. I hear much of it was bugged, and current quests even added in 1.1. but I think the raw volume was too much, and they reduced the alternative options, and cross reactivity.

Hmm well I did the DLC when I got to it. Finished it , in that I cannot go back to it. Now I'm all swole & OP, think my level is in the mid 40s? Got a kick ass 1h sword from there and a very OP fire spell that has to regen. Went to the town and bought a battlemage summon (maybe it was from the druid dude maggot? ) anyhow I summoned 2 master assassins , 2 battle mages, 1 drowned something mob. I had the 1h and the OP spell in 1 group, the 1h and the other OP burning spell in another group.
I'm getting lip from the commander guy in the town and one of the options was 'Try me'. So fuck it I tried it.
Me & my small army of summoned mobs majorly butt fucked the town guards , it was hilarious and probably game breaking so afterwards I reloaded the save and played it straight.
I did have a really good time massacring all of the town military though.

Stick with it, there are parts that feel like a fever dream but (I'm assuming) it will all make sense eventually. I am having an absolute blast.

Well I am in the last area now. Pretty sure I know how it will end up. I thought the 2nd area had too much to do. Finally just roamed around doing the explore thing and walked into some quests mid way. I said nope to one that wound up breaking my way out of getting to the 3rd area so had to reload. Then I decided to just stick to the main quest, except it requires you to pretty much do most of the secondary quests.
I've level I think 50 now, way OP. 1 shotting everything except a boss mob.

Finished today , 75 hours and that includes the DLC. Do not regret this purchase at all.
All in all I'd say 7.5/10 game. I will probably play again at some point.
Sided with the knight guy Caradac(sp) , killed King Arthur in 2 hits, I was way OP . I thought at the end I was supposed to give up my life so Arthur could take over my body but guess not? Read in the credits it's based on a board game, didn't know that either

I bought Conquest during the kickstarter (if I’m remembering my games correctly) just because I love their board games, customer service, etc. It had an interesting arc, they made the game and it was interesting and is a good but not great game.I’d say if you like card games $6 is not a bad price for it.
Anyways it was their first foray into video games and it wasn’t really the game they wanted to make, Avalon was. I’m not really sure why but once they finished Conquest they gave all of us Conquest supporters Avalon for free. I didn’t even realize I had it for a long time, til one day I was trying to reinstall Conquest and installed Avalon instead and was really confused. I thought they completely changed the original game.

Hmm I have a really hard time getting into card building games. I may try that though just cuz the other game was so good.
Next I'm running a new game of Fallout New Vegas though. The TV show has me jonesing hard.

I am just starting this. I am winding down this season for POE2 and tried NIOH 3 and kind of bounced off it. When this game's starting screen came up with someone who sounded like Chris Cornell, I was immediately hooked. Been playing as a mostly mage based on this thread and my Elden Ring experience; loving this game so far.

I’m really enjoying it too. Quick tip: I just realized that ALL materials used for crafting and cooking can be stored in your stash and pulls from there automatically. Took my weight from 198/200 to 68/200! So much better.
I like the music a lot for this game, but the title screen song is just weird. Doesn’t match anything else I’ve heard in the game yet and I’m 25 hours into act 1

I realized that early on, and slowly transitioned down from whatever of whatever to 48/185 when I leave the stash.
The opening music may be weird, I was just struck by how quickly the opening music started and how much he sounded like Chris Cornell, one of my favorite vocalists of all time.
I am playing as a mage build so most of my points when into Spirituality for the first 6 or 7 levels; now I am about to be 21 and am still finding things in Act 1 at hour 38? I am really, really, really enjoying it. It's so rare to find games that make me remember why I love playing games. Mostly doing Flicker(thing)? and Venom(splash)? with 300% spell power and 5 Keeper summons, killed all the Bandit leaders and Ogres. Just walking through stuff but I know that won't last. Someone got combat in my cooking and flower picking simulator, though. Now to master fishing for the crazy undead chef. I have seen before I ever knew it was this game, don't pet the toad.
I can't wait to go back and do a Two-handed Melee build at some point. Narratively I sure at one point I wouldn't like the story but they brought it around that now I think they will have a fairly good complex story I won't hate.
I expect to get several hundred hours out of this.
Mage here too, battlemage I guess? I tend to use one spell + wand for whacking when mobs get close. I just found a spell that seems really good, blazing something or other, but requires 12 spirituality. I am focusing on getting that after dumping some points into endurance for my armor (waning moon) and perception (not sure why I did that but whatever, I can respect later if I want). Game is an absolute blast. I'm having way more fun than I expected. Only 1 crash so far and that was when I manually quick saved right after fast traveling. I had heard horror stories about performance, but on the Pro at 1440p with auto save off and Vsync on, its plenty smooth for my tastes and looks fine.
My biggest complaint at this point is that after digging or mining, the shovel/pickaxe doesn't auto unequip and revert back to my loadout, I have to manually open the loadout wheel and reselect my spell+wand every.single.time.

I like the theme music a lot. gets me humming every time. Lots of games have theme songs that don't match the interior music exactly. yes here the in game music is more ambient.
