Out on Peacock and torrents
So I was reading an article about this show and it's based on Robert McGammons, may have misspelled that, but his novel called Stinger. I remember seeing it in bookstores as a kid I've read some of his other works, most notably Swan Song.

He was pretty much like early King and Dean Koontz. I never read Stinger though. I'm tempted to read the book first and then maybe check it out, or maybe vice versa.

If I remember reading the description of the book back when I saw it as a kid in the bookstore, I think it's supposed to be an alien.

Always remember going to the bookstore as a kid, and we were always allowed to pick out a book. Walking through the horror section, they're all those fantastic cover art. Pick it up and read the description, and that was the one you were grabbing.

Thanks for spoiling it!

I think it is, but I could be completely and utterly wrong, and there's no telling if Hollywood just completely rewrote the whole concept or plot. Could be a weird tranny for all I know.

Got to remember, I'm retarded...👍🏻

His book "The Wolf's Hour" is my favorite werewolf story.

That I'll check out.

I'm not sure I'm sold on the show. The premise is interesting but I feel like the mom is pretty unlikable and so is the dad.

When they were “looking for their son” we were laughing at how ridiculous and uninterested they were in finding the kid. No one moved with any sense of urgency or care about this missing kid. They sat around and poured drinks for each other in the kitchen, had some talks about a horse, and goofed off.

The neighbor with the rifle was a little over the top. And when he got out of the truck the Dad was all “Whoa a gun!? wtf man?!” And I’m just thinking, no way a family lives out in the woods, small town, surrounded by coyotes and wildlife, and shits their pants when someone pulls out a scary gun.

Anyways, we’ll watch episode 3. May just end up reading the book after I finish what I’m in the middle of.

I had the exact thoughts and comments with my wife as you did. It was comical how little they cared about finding the kid. Plus shitting the bed about a gun when there was a "rabid dog" around was just some California retard shit.

binged watch through episode 5...

This is one of those shows where people get information and never share that information with anyone else even though it would make perfect sense. so its artificial drama where none of the characters are talking and everyone has a secret.

few examples and spoilers below.

1. kids go missing for like 2 episodes and nobody notices
2. its a Good Alien (harbinger) vs Bad Alien (Assassin) but so far doesn't make a lot of sense. apparently the assassin is there to kill the harbinger when he arrives but otherwise just kind of meanders around and waits?
3. McNabb, Olsen and Travis apparently have all of this vague info from Discord?
4. I dont understand the trap, but that could be that it hasn't been explained fully. as far as we know, the assassin activated a magic iridescent branch thats near the good harbinger. and it made a giant wall of death, drinking the liquid makes you immune to the effects of the trap, but does the liquid just arrive whenever a harbinger shows up?

Yeah, the way they handled the McNabb stuff was odd. Like, here's this big download of information that we got from being on the internet a lot and figured it all out!

it is an irritating show for sure. I did expect them to dance around the whole "who is Harbinger" thing for a while, but instead just came out and talked about the plan. McNabb and Co also made it sound like there's a host of Assassins out there waiting to be activated. But, I kind of missed that part of the conversation due to house stuff.
