Ok, just finished this slog. It's pretty low budget, and it's trying to be an Australian Hereditary maybe, but on a shitty budget. Has a few decent elements like the B-roll scenery and the score, but that's not worth the 1.5 hours you'll never get back.

Just a lot of wandering around in the woods hiding behind trees, and some stupid flashbacks that don't really tell you much. I mean I guess they tried but the trailer makes it look a lot better than what it actually is, which is people in creepy masks. It's almost like a student film project.

I guess I'll put this at the end of my ever growing movie backlog after your glowing review.

The Other movie was better. I watch the two back to back. Other isn't amazing but it's worth a watch at least. This one, not so much. You can probably just skip around a bit.

The Ritual on Netflix is actually good folklore type horror.

I'm also watching The Red King on AMC+. Unsure if I like it though. It very much reminds me of Wickerman.

The Ritual was great. Pretty different from the novel, but I enjoyed it.

The Red King has all of the makings of a great folk horror but the main character is just so grating without earning anything. I'm going to watch through to the end but she has probably made something that could have been casually rewatchable every now and then into something that I'm struggling to finish once.

Yeah. The concept is interesting and so is what is happening but I don't really like her or even most of the people in the show.
