I worked at fedex, packages are loaded in the morning. When they're being loaded, each box is scanned, which automatically updates the tracking to "out for delivery". So if it doesn't say that by like 10:00am, chances are you're not getting it today.
Well I work at not Fedex and I have gotten many a package that didn't even show up as being shipped yet by Fedex ... take that information and do what you will with it.

Anecdotes... The scan rate is something like >99% for 1000+ packages. The chances of MULTIPLE packages belonging to you not being scanned is very slim.

Considering how recent the investments for full HD have been in broadcasting, the infrastructure needed to broadcast 4k content all the way to the end user, the current DVD vs BluRay situation or the current 4k equipment rate in movie theaters, you better be ready to wait a while before 4k becomes the norm. Remember that the first HDTV sets available for consumers in the US got released in the late '90s so it took a decade from there to become some sort of standard. Also remember that the FIFA world cup was broadcasted in HD in 1990! It took the better of 20 years to become the broadcasting standard.
For broadcast Television yes. The one thing that made HDTV's standard was the push of HD-DVD and Blu-Ray media. That's what really pushed broadcast to HD infrastructure.

The push isn't going to come from broadcast this time however. It is going to come from the movie entertainment crowd. Most films are already being filmed utilizing this:

RED ONE :: the first 4K digital cinema camera from RED Digital Cinema

4k is going to be natively supported in theaters very soon. 4k players and media centers are already out, and the push to sell this technology from backers like Sony is in full content swing. And let's be honest. Sony has a valid stake at pushing this through. Broadcast may be left behind because they want to do as little possible for the dollar, but film making is different. We are in a much different market in a 1080p to 4k switch than we were when we transformed from 480i to HD. Films and home entertainment will force broadcast to adapt or die. Especially with all the new streaming services out.

With that said, Tuco, this is important because the ongoing new launch consoles could be brought out to pasture before developers learn how to develop for it. But, with that said, we were conditioned for console replacement at a 10 year cycle this time around. It needs to shift back to 4-5 years. This technology drive of 4k will make that happen, or quite simply, there won't be another generation of consoles if they fall this far behind again.

This just in:

All Bestbuys and Futureshops have a minimum 25 extra units.
Guesses going that this includes all Targets and Walmarts.

Reports now that Canadian Best Buys have up to 250 units on stock not preordered.

Edited to reflect Canadian stores:

Minimum 25 unreserved units available at each store
250 unreserved units available at Bay and Dundas only for purchase at midnight

Bay and Dundas is the Best Buy right in the downtown core of Toronto, I expect all of those to be gone very quickly

Lol. Still doesn't change the fact that the textures of that game are bad.
Pretty sure people don't give a shit as long as it looks better than previously. Lets keep in mind that Minecraft is one of the biggest games out there. Terraria has a cult following as well, and half of this forum plays EQ on and off through various emulators.
