A system having a better library than any other system is not a compelling enough reason.

Are you being sarcastic or stupid?

The primary reason to own a video game system is to play video games and it has better video games than other platforms with video games.

I don't get one because I don't want to look like a girly man.. I strap my PS4 to my back and have an LCD mounted to my shoulders.

Handhelds are for women, small children, and men with small girly hands!

I watched a few quick youtube videos. Nothing listed REALLY interested me that much.

With that in mind, I'm skipping it. As it stands, the 4 systems I have don't get nearly enough use. It's not that they don't have games... they do. I just don't have time to play them and maintain a family life. So that's why I'm skipping it. Maybe later on I'll see a game that I "have to have" and pick one up. For now, that isn't the case.

Fire Emblem is maybe the game of the year, both Zelda games are amazing, you have Pokemon, Mario 3d Land, Mario Kart, Dream Team, Kid Icarus, Kingdom Hearts, the Etrian Odyssey games, Luigi's Mansion 2...just excellent game after excellent game.

Watching youtube videos for 3DS games can't even begin to do them justice.

Fire emblem was good, but I'd hardly consider it GoTY. I thought pokemon was OK at best, but I don't give a shit about the online battling so maybe that's fun for people. I agree with your sentiment though, tons of good DS/3DS games.

Got my wife a Mario bundle from target and she is already addicted to M&L dream team despite never having played video games beyond her phone.

My wife continues to scream at me about the cool shit she can do in the new Zelda. "I just morphed into a wall!!" lol

Oddly enough, I've owned every major gaming system since the Atari 2600(and quite a few more non-popular ones like a 3DO and Turbografx 16/CD) and I've never had a portable game system. No gameboy of any kind(although I did want an Atari Lynx back in the day). Guess I never really had a use for one. Never had a very long bus ride to school, have never lived anywhere with public transit, so no playing while waiting on a bus or subway, and as an only child I never had to share my game systems so it's not like I had to go play a Gameboy while a sibling played by SNES, I could play the SNES at will.

Guess I never saw the appeal of sitting there playing a game on a tiny ass screen when my consoles and big TV were sitting right there in front of me available for use as well.

PSP has an RGB out, you can play it on a big screen and just use it as a controller. I played most of the best hand held games on an emulator. The games are good. The portability isn't the selling point, I played 99% of time sitting in front of my TV watching something while using my DS and do the same thing now with my 3DSxl. It is the same reason you buy every console: the exclusives.

Same here Master - and do the same with PS4 thanks to Remote Play. Even had a successful 3G run at testing Remote Play yesterday - was laggy but technically worked.

...fine, I bought it for my wife. Maybe some day down the road I'll play it or something.

Came to $170 after tax for the console & the game. Games weren't discounted.

How horrible does a gameboy game look on a big screen TV?

Good choice. My wife loves it as it's a great system to play while watching our son. It's durable, so don't have to worry too much about him getting at it, and easy to move around the house depending on what he or she are doing. She'll have it downstairs all day with him and then bring it upstairs and play in bed before she goes to sleep.

I intend to play it at some point, but just as you, have very little time and its usually spent playing something else.

He's talking about playing WHILE watching TV not on the TV except for the PSP mention. (And PSP should look OK... Pretty surerresolution on them is Wii ish)

That part of it definitely does suck and given the choice I'd much rather play on my beautiful 60" Plasma. Unfortunately, we don't really have a choice for these games and they are some of the best out there and worth making the concession to play.

I meant while watching TV, but I actually played all the GBA games I wanted to on an emulator and they looked great on my computer screen. There are a ton of graphical mods in those emulators that make everything look sharp if you fiddle with it.

Oh, I still have that code from MS for a full copy of Killer Instinct (all characters unlocked, etc). Anyone want to trade me something for that?
