Less concerned about sticker price, more about all that's required to go along with it... subscriptions, fees for backward compatibility, accessory pricing, etc. For all we know the new Dual Shock could debut at $80 for all we know. I expect a pretty strong push for Vita (could be wrong, could get Wonderbook 2 instead), but at the same time I don't want to have to buy one to enjoy the system.

I doubt either of the two consoles will have BC. The 360 and PS3 were built on PowerPC architecture while the Durango and Orbis are both x86 based. As I understand it, games won't work unless developers are willing to recode/recompile their games for the new consoles. Sony may be able to provide some support using Gaikai, I guess.

Im kinda hopeing hardware wise they launch with 2 different PS4 system specs, 1 for budget, and 1 for hardcore with bigger HD, More Ram etc.

There are so many games I haven't bought from this gen, that I'll just sit back. HD gaming is HD gaming.

Although I'm sure I'll buy at least one of these at launch, I agree with this sentiment. Once you get into playing the game, as long as it's HD, the graphical differences typically make very little difference, if any.

Some Gamers hate Xbox720 some hate ps4 orbis etc, so once its offical its easier to have 2 threads for each, so for that cant stand the other system or cant afford both systems etc.

That way they can just read about the system there instrested in not have to wade thru bunch of bullshit or theorycrafting on future specs of xbox720 etc.

I plan on have both but money to me is nothing.

I agree on not being worth it. I get little time to game and its usually split between playing with friends in the current mmo du jour or single player console games. I don't play multiplayer outside pc enough to warrant being current and the graphics are "good enough" as long as we're not talking Wii.

Just thinking of the games I've not played....the Arkhams, Uncharted, ME, etc. Hell, I've got a few ps2 era games I'd love to play too.

Looks like ps4 may have an Xbox live style fee too. Not surprised. I'm ready to see any new plans for tv and movie content delivery. I want an improved entertainment box for my tv.

Launch details are already set its more or less in Nov 2013 at 2 prices, their sites all over the web that have 2 price points, and Nov 2013 date.

The only question now are the 2 price points 100 dollars apart for more ram, Bigger HD etc Model or the standard model with extra controller and some other crap.

The other issue is dont believe they give set date yet in Nov, alot of the sites are also stateing that PS4 Orbis will if needed too, move its launch date up few monthes ahead.

If Microsoft Xbox 720 announces there launch date ahead of ps4 date, then sony would counter and move ahead by few monthes.

Sony cant afford and does not want to allow Xbox720 to get couple monthes ahead again for launch for market share.

If this was to happen, sony counters then microsoft counters again at some point they both be stuck due to hardware and even more Important new next gen software not being ready.

Sean I can dream, its probally going to be the later extra controller some other shit.

If their was ram addon with HD drive addon price difference would pay it.
If they upped the ram would be 4 gig more at most.

Considering most that are not liveing in there parents basements are useing 24 gig to 32 gig of ram set up now would be easy to do.

Testing however would be the issue those with more ram would have advantage.

8gigs is fine. And the problem with selling someone another 4gigs (or whatever) is that they're still going to make the game only utilize up to 8gigs. It's not like they'd release a high res texture patch for those with >8gigs of memory.

Please for the love of Christ show me some gamer that is using 32 "gig" of RAM so I can set their house on fire.

It's EXTREMELY simple to understand why they'll never do this, and I'll use a modern example too. If you make two systems, one runs with 2GB RAM one runs with 8GB (for this example). So they make this game that runs and looks beautifully on the 8GB system, yet it runs like ass on the 2GB system. They have to lower the amount of textures and other settings to make it run at 60FPS (generous here). They would never in a million years release a game that only runs great on the top of the line system. What they'll do is take the version of the game that runs great on the lower end system and ship it all around. It literally makes 0 sense to make two different quality hardware systems.

Look at FFXI for example. The game was created for PS2. When you played it on PC it ran like shit, looked like shit, and played like shit. They refused to release a version from PC that was far superior because they wanted to appease the lowest common denominator.

Absolutely 100% guarantee you will not see two different systems with the exception of small "extras".
