If I got better at using a controller I think it would be an easy switch. That and the price of games.

Steam has ruined me in terms of games. I feel console games, because it's such a huge money maker for companies, are more hard pressed to discount them.

I want a ps4 but game prices are a hard pill to swallow. There's a reason I have a Steam account on PC and a jasper model xbox360 with a stack of blank verbatim DVDs sitting right next to it...

Almost purchased the Vita Amazon bundle to use remote play for ps3 games since that console is in my bedroom. I then did research and realized that basically zero games can be remote played from the ps3. No thanks.

Ubisoft Survey Ponders An Assassins Creed-Free Pirate Franchise

Now that Ubisoft has made not one but two pirate-themed games in the Assassin's Creed universe, a survey being sent out to fans (and through them to IGN) wonders if players wouldn't just be fine with a straight-up pirate game.

According to IGN, the survey puts forth a pirate-centric, non-AC franchise, asking players what sort of features they'd like to see in such an endeavor, including customizable ships, a deeper economy, more activities on sea and land and cooperative and competitive online multiplayer naval combat.

I have no desire to play brand new games as they come out, I have never once considered a pre order for a consul game. I purposely try and lag my game buying 6 -12 months behind a release so i can pick up a "new to me" used game for $20-$30. Most of the games i buy are GOTY editions and typical much cheaper.

Heh, on that note - they're not packaging the second wave like they did the replacement ones for defectives... Came in a box that could've fit 3-4 PS4's in it with just a few air cushions and one side caved in from handling...

I was a little worried especially when the HDMI I was using (the longer "fancy" one I have - like a $25 HDMI nothing extravagant but still) had a constant flicker on a quarter of the screen... then I opted to try to included one I presumed was crap and problem is no more...

Also find it amusing that after the "test drive" I asked the wife (who was giving me grief about buying it without consulting her - was literally looking at board games then I was like "Excuse me, Laura - I'm spending $400 on a PS4 a moment" without a second thought) her take on scalping it and making $100-150 or if we should keep it. Her answer was, "Well, if they'll do $2k so we're still ahead for the time lost with it while we find TWO to replace it"... A wonderful change of pace from the 3 days of nagging she was giving me over doing it without finalizing the details with her, heh.

[We budget everything as a group budget - technically I did a no-no]

And honestly I would be surprised if we don't see more steam-esque sales by sony/MS, especially with amazon selling PSN codes now.

Sony has regular sales every month, often quite good ones, plus event sales every now and then. People just seem to totally ignore this fact and go "LOL STEAM PRICES". You can get Ni no Kuni for $9.79 if you're PS+ (or $13.99 if you're not) right now on their Holiday Sale. That's pretty damned good. The normal price on it is $19.99 (games do not stay $60 forever and do drop in price). There's also Discounts on Day 1 Digital Releases for PS+ members and even pre-order sales.

And lol.... Gamestop has PS4 bundles up again guaranteed by Xmas.... for $810 - Killzone, Call of Doggy, 1 yr PS+, Marvel, Knack, NBA 2k14 and an extra controller.

The price is MSRP on everything but what a random mishmosh of games that no one will want as a package.

You have to look at the 'Used' price not the new price. I manipulate the queue to get games on release day if I really want to play them so its basically new anyway. Once you buy it, they mail you any codes that are given to people that buy it new too.
