Trying to judge it objectively, I just don't see The Boys being something I ever think about (much less rewatch) again. At least half of the episodes from seasons 2+ feel like wheel spinning (at least this season is better than Season 4 on that front); but at the end of the day, the contrivances needed to have the (mostly unpowered) TV versions of The Boys survive the likes of Homelander for years on end just makes it clear the ultimate superpower is plot armor.

I will say that all of the prequel introductions this season rub me the wrong way; beyond having a time period where the writers will get to have every episode be about White Men being bad while sabotaging the one true wisdom that is Communism, we now know half the damn cast can't die. Way to keep the suspense going.

The show had an amazing season 1. Season 2 sucked but held up by Urban/Starr. Ackles has held it up for 3 & 5. Butcher they fucked up on I feel. I think it's hard to upstage Urban & Starr but Ackles is just landing his role

I want to root for Starr but he's always just been ass in real life it sounds like. He has banged an insane amount of girls from the sounds of it, stories of him are always bonkers

The problem is most characters are unlikable, which has been a trend this past decade. And, you know, for some reason I cannot stand Jack Quaid. There's just something about that actor that annoys me.

He's ugly and can't act. Just got the job through nepotism. Must be nice to have Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid as parents.

Only two more episodes and it doesn't feel like it. Reading the spoilers for next episode is super underwhelming, as well. There's been too many buildups and pullbacks.

It's really sad how badly they assassinated Deep. He was likable and funny in the first 2 seasons. Now it's like he works for the southern poverty law center pretending to be a proud boy.
