Glad you liked the character creation tool seemed cool. Guess what? You can use it today in any other rpg and most MMORPGs since 2003. In the meantime, I'll bring this up again. The mere fact they are putting a video like this out is insulting to any gamer with an iq over 6.

I guess you are just gonna stick it to the creators of games. You are super player! You have the guiding light and knowledge when it comes to what everyone wants in a game. I am sorry to question your superior knowledge on video games, specifically the MMO genre. Damn anyone with a dissenting opinion. They are merely not experienced enough with gaming to have formulated the correct opinion. Steering players clear of things you don't like in order to save themselves from something they probably would not enjoy anyways! That is a truly noble crusade.

After this post you truly belong on the site I recommended for you. Let me clue you in. I don't have a guiding light when it comes to what a player wants in a game. I have a guiding light calling a spade a spade. Something missing in the round table developer meetings where everyone kisses each other's asses waiting for that next promotion while ignoring advancements that could happen in this genre as a result. If you or anyone else is so desperate to fucking cling to a video of a character creation tool as hope that the game itself has any chance of being fun, and this is what TESO is putting out as actual marketing six months before launch, I fucking cry for the masses that look forward to these games, and anyone that gives that video any sort of recognition is settling at the lowest common denominator of the lowest standard.

This shit was relevant in 1998.

Seeing anyone glorify a fucking character creation tool video that does nothing that any other character creation tool has done in the last ten years will most likely also go outside and try to tell someone how great that oxygen looks outside the window. What's next? A video that lasts ten seconds saying it is compatible to run on windows 7? Fucking awesome preordering that shit!

ESO appears to have a well-made character creation screen. The options were quite nice and mainstream in quality. Nothing spectacular, but you don't really need anything crazy. Look at how slim WoW's is for example. I look forward to other videos from them instead of having to listen to Utnayan shit on everything with his anonymous "sources".

The character creator looked good. The reason why it's worth bring up because what most of us have seen from the game looked like crap. Having a pretty character creator, in the grand scheme of things, is not something to hang your hat on.

Yeah but you are going up against the worst pass defense in the league, or damn near it. Freeman knows this offense about as good as Paul Sage knows how to design a fun game, and AP now has 78 kids. The locker room is a mess, we can't control the line of scrimmage, our receivers cannot run alternate block routes for secondary or Kyle Rudolph, and our post secondary couldn't cover my dog. Robbi, Allen, and Greenway are the only three players worth a shit, and the hail mary team assignment of Greg Jennings isn't working when we don't have a QB that can spot him on a slant route. IE: We're fucked.

The thing you may not realise is I don't care if you agree or not with us. I will happily debate you. There are plenty of people I have given + nets for having a good solid rational argument with. I think you are also thinking that once we walk away from the computer after talking on this forum we even give it one more ounce of consideration because none of us do. We argue over games because we are passionate about them. For example I think Blackwulf is retarded but he has just as much right to post here (if he isn't a shill) as I do because he's a gamer and we share that passion.

Insults are always going to be thrown around when you are passionate about something but I'm pretty sure most people here if they met IRL would probably have a beer with each other rather then hate on each other. This forum is a great forum with A LOT of knowledgeable people and it may seem a bit crazy sometimes but everyone knows that's what comes with the territory here.

Yeah, that's a good point - I don't hate anyone here. Sometimes I get a little wound up, but I'm trying to keep it in perspective. I, too, think I could enjoy a beer with any of you nerds. Think of the amazing forum war stories we could share!

On topic - DMK, I looked at that video you posted with other games that have good character creation systems. You're right - there are a ton of options available in some of them, but I think ESO is a respectable step up when you combine graphics + options. Admittedly, I might have a bias, because I like the art style of Elder Scrolls over the more anime style.

I agreed with something on another forum - game companies need to push this further than just sliders and styles. Wouldn't it be cool to choose things like if you are left or right handed? How about choosing the type of stride you have: swagger, limp, shuffle.. lol. Then I thought about it some more, and I thought it would be cool if your character's looks/mannerisms changed based on your gameplay. What if you made a choice in a quest that resulted in you losing a limb? You could follow up with subsequent quests to get some sort of replacement limb (magical or whatever based on the game.) Or scars.. like if you die in game, you resurrect with a scar. Maybe they could fade over time, so you aren't a bundle of scars, lol. Anyway, you see what I'm saying - it would be cool if a game company would think outside the box. I guess SWTOR kinda did this with darkside corruption, but that was pretty canned.
