I thought Chicago and moulin rouge were both well received, might be wrong about moulin rougeThe reviewers have been quite down on this, but then again the reviewers hated Moulin Rouge as well. I will say that that Fergie song is insanely catchy.
But the book is about the dichotomy between our outward face and our inner desires. You have to have sumptuous, over the top visuals to make it work. It's the background composition and actors job to provide the window into the inner turmoil. The scene where Gatsby is coming in from the rain wet with a pained look on his face, absolutely gorgeous. I'm going to see it this weekend, but from what I've read the 3D should also do some justice to the story particularly the shirt scene.First time I saw the trailer it seemed it was too heavily focused on the visuals ect and not the story which seems to be the complaint with a lot of the critics

Again: Romeo + Juliet was well received. This movie didn't really stand a chance with critics. Such a beloved book modernized. They were always going to turn their noses up.
Yeah... he's pretty much Howard Hughes in every film. I really think he did his best work in Catch Me If You Can.leo keeps playing the same character over and over again...and his usual performance over and over again...
