hopefully the drops on ssf are all legendary (and no trade obviously). the amount of time needed to gear up in general is going to be considerably longer, so no need to require that the players spend days worth of time leveling up items.

server feels like it's hitting a rough spot in general though where the grinders are going inactive and bazaar monkeys are manipulating prices in their absence, so making an alt in that type of ecosystem isn't all that attractive and i imagine it's only going to get worse. i do want to play beastlord/berserker at some point though since they were after my time, so planning on killing whatever versions of zeb i can this weekend and then checking out until ssf is stable to come back and give that combo a shot.

Nahh, in other mmorpg I can be doing shit WHILE I level up shit, like farming for other stuff, exploring, doing quests for valuable items PvP, grinding factions for items, grinding something for some points to be spent on good shit...etc.. Thats the thing, other mmorpgs have options, this one, not so much.

Damn, 4+ months until GoD soooks... even worse if they consider allowing lvl 70 for GoD release. That takes away from OoW fun, which makes me spiral into thinking they dont have plans for OoW.

OK noob, like I said all my shit was done AFK. Level up and go do some shit and come back to us and explain how this fucking server is casual friendly when I have to grind 730 mobs PER PIECE of fucking gear to level it to lego from blue. And I have 11K AA spread. All of it worthless becuase Im not grinding fucking gear like a retard. Its fucking boring, this server is boring. and you will see once your honeymoon phase is over.

I think the complaints wouldn't be so bad if you had a variety of places to farm AA from. Currently, it's just DN which frankly is unacceptable. It shouldn't be too hard to tune a few other zones to make them on par to farming AA in DN. For a server that revolves around farming AA, it needs to change.

Seb is a great place to hit levels and AA, left guk at 32 with 150 AA and now 41 and have 552 AA. Mobs up top all stay red till about 40.

"farming" is an odd term to use here. The meta is to pull so many mobs you can't see a thing and kill them all at one time. Then repeat. 0 danger, 0 change, 0 skill. The most mind numbing operation possible.

They make the items easy to get but pull a switch a roo when you have to invest hours in the most boring way possible to actually get the item you want.

Gear grind is the worst for sure. At max level they should boost item xp significantly to allow you to grind it out on dark blue or higher con mobs.

The Discord channel (not sure how many work on it) has kept the following google spreadsheet mostly current since Velious, and it looks like its been updated quite a bit since I quit. When a new xpac drops, it takes a few weeks for the min/maxers to decide on a "good enough" list, get it written down, then discuss the variations.

I really enjoyed the first character, and i do think SSF would make it a lot more appealing long term, but i think the experience of how many AAs you need and the optimal ways of obtaining them gets old pretty fast. I burned out pretty quickly on my 2nd character because i just dont have it in me to farm 1000 more AAs lol

If SSF made AA exp and Item exp substantially higher i would be way more incentivized

So I've been doing my own SSF run on a pal/rng/rog and the only thing I have bought on bazaar so far was an early kunark bow because I couldn't find any decent bows in classic to get started.

I finally killed Vulak today for the first time but I had to use lay hands and was 0% mana. Have about 900 aa's and I have been doing ntov and sleepers at level 60. Using a lego primal bow and willsapper from DN. I guess my gear is a mix of TOV / VP and mines/nadox/hatesfury.

Kerafrym is still spanking me, I can only get it to about 75% and it spawns an add and then I get destroyed. What's the strategy for killing it? Am I just undergeared / underaa'd ?

Gear for sure. Maybe a few more AA? Remember that sleeper was the 2 man exclusive content for its time. So its not something you will be able to do with shit gear. For example my pally/ber/mnk barely gets damaged in the sleeper fight anymore almost fully BIS PoP with 3500AA. I dont even have to heal, the PoP sword keeps me healed. If youre SSF or trying to keep it that way, keep farming NTOV and try to unlock Luclin. Vex thal is pretty EZ, jsut boring, and you will get lots of upgrades there. YOu will have to unlock Vex Thal by doing the Luclin progression into POP. Also your rogue skips make Vex trivial, just kill bosses and collect loots. And then you can work on your POP progression too once unlocked by doing the luclin progression which is pretty EZ.
