Gear for sure. Maybe a few more AA? Remember that sleeper was the 2 man exclusive content for its time. So its not something you will be able to do with shit gear. For example my pally/ber/mnk barely gets damaged in the sleeper fight anymore almost fully BIS PoP with 3500AA. I dont even have to heal, the PoP sword keeps me healed. If youre SSF or trying to keep it that way, keep farming NTOV and try to unlock Luclin. Vex thal is pretty EZ, jsut boring, and you will get lots of upgrades there. YOu will have to unlock Vex Thal by doing the Luclin progression into POP. Also your rogue skips make Vex trivial, just kill bosses and collect loots. And then you can work on your POP progression too once unlocked by doing the luclin progression which is pretty EZ.
Nice, thanks. Yeah I figure it's real gear dependent. I didn't know sleeper was 2 man when velious was out though so it's not surprising i'm struggling with kunark / velious loot.

So no special strat then, just kill the add warders as they pop?

There is one add at 75%, could be any of the warders or the ancients. Then at 25% you need to burn sleeper as fast as you can because you have 1 min until like 6-8 adds spawn. So save your burn until then.

Well, patch is in and now you can skip P1-3 of Time.


  1. General Changes​

    • Most Focus Effect types which previously had a randomized effect now have a static effectiveness.
    • Improved Damage Focus increased in effectiveness by 1000%.
    • Many Improved Damage Focus will now be effective on AoE spells.
      Automated IP Exemptions!
    • Two Gnomish Causality Engineers have appeared in the Bazaar! These will help you obtain an IP exemption if you follow their quest.
      • This system relies on our trust in our players to not abuse this system.
      • Players found to be abusing this system to multibox outside of the Bazaar will have consequences for every account which they have ever logged into.
      Bug Fixes
    • Corrected bug which caused abnormally accelerated attack rates when using /attackmode ranged
    • Players with certain titles should no longer crash when opening title window
    • Updated a number of augments (including Easter Eggs) to correctly be attunable at the Legendary quality level
    • Speculative fix for crash at 0% in certain encounters
    • Added validation to make sure that items you buy from vendors is actually the item you are trying to buy.
    • Vision of Ayonae dialogue text revised.
    • Maligar in West Karana should more reliabily path back to his spawn
    • Updated ALL legendary augments (including Easter Egg augments) to be attunable.
    • Augments with Focus Effects containing Sympathetic Procs can now function if the host item already has a focus effect
    • Battle Cry of the Mastruq now correctly decreases weapon delay instead of increasing it.
    • Tracker Azeal will no longer be spawning multiable copies of himself (@Eldarian)
    • Added Relv the Mysterious encounter in Plane of Storms (@Eldarian)
    • Jaggedpine War Event Villagers will no longer Duplicate spawn themselves during the event (@Eldarian)
    • Rabbit Petamorph wands now make rabbits instead of Dougs
    • Petamorph wand illusions are now permanent
    • Fixed mismatch between displayed cast times and actual cast times for certain spells.
    • Dain is no longer a Doug
    • Jaled Dar's Shade is no longer a Doug
    • Bard songs are no longer affected by any spell focuses.
      Misc
    • Certain Merchants who have items with criteria which hide that item (such as class or level), no longer have a temporary merchant list. Notably, this affects Merchant Aina in the Bazaar
    • Removed slow effect from Prismatic Entropy.
    • Added 'Train All' toggle to AA Window (@voidless)
    • Added 'Map Filters' option window to Map Window (@voidless)
    • Vision of Ayonae's class randomization feature now randomizes all 3 classes.
    • Added XL Gnomish Quadramorphic Combinerator. Combine up to 16 items in any combination of Base and Enchanted to create a Legendary item.
    • Name Changes are now available from the Polymorphist in the Bazaar.
    • Removed Delivery Voucher from all merchants in the Bazaar
    • Added Bundle of Delivery Vouchers (10) to Echo of Memory in the Bazaar. This will unpack into 10 Delivery Vouchers when purchased.
      • Reminder: Delivery Vouchers can be used to purchase items from traders in the Bazaar from any zone with no additional fees, and have that item delivered directly to your inventory.
    • Druid and Ranger epic 1.0 quest NPCs in East Karana will now only accept talisman turn-ins in the correct sequence and will reject out of sequence items if the quest is already in progress. Althele will accept any of the quest talismans to restart the line. (@ammordius)
    • Commander Zazuzh and Commander Zherozsh in Ssra Temple are now guaranteed to be up in a non-respawning instance with their key piece.
    • Box of the Void is now Lore
    • Tome Vendors in EC Tunnel are now all labeled correctly
    • Added Echo of the Past to numerous zones involved in Epic Quests, all Epics should now have DZ options for all contested stages.
    • Reduced AoE Range of Chronostorm
    • Spell Casting Subtlety removed.
    • Silent Casting has been made available to all casting classes, the recast time reduced to 60 seeconds, and the duration increased to 1 hour (and the buff will now suspend).

    Encounters​

    • Time Vortex in Plane of Time no longer proc Time Warp, but instead cast it on a 30 second cooldown.
    • The disease counters on Time Warp have been reduced to 30.
    • Reworked Zebuxoruk encounter - Druzzil Ro can assist the player by reducing the difficulty of the encounter in exchange for reduced loot awards
    • Kerafyrm, Lord Inquisitor Seru, and Zebuxoruk will offer additional loot for those who challenge them as a group (3 or more players).
    • Reduced the difficulty of certain mechanics in the Zebuxoruk encounter.
    • Plane of Time reworked; a Herald of Druzzil Ro will guide you through the initial parts of the zone. The Herald will also accept a Time Phased Quintessence in order to allow you to skip Phases 1-3 of the zone.
    • Lowered the time between waves for several ring events in Acrylia Caverns (@Clain(Drelok:emoji_nose:
      Paladin
    • Adjusted Act of Valor to consume 50% of Max Mana in order to heal group for 2 hp per mp consumed
      Warrior
    • Warlord's Fury AA added
      • 1 minute CD. 100% All Skill Damage for up to 12 seconds.
    • Press the Attack adjusted - now causes initial damage and reduces target's AC for up to 12 seconds.
    • Grappling Strike adjusted - now causes initial damage and reduces target's evasion for up to 12 seconds.
    • Gut Punch adjusted - now causes initial damage and increases target's physical hit damage taken by 50% for up to 12 seconds
      Wizard
    • Harvest of Druzzil restores 40% of user's maximum mana when activated.
    • Cryomancy and Pyromancy AA effects will stack with all buffs.
    • Cryomancy and Pyromancy have had their proc chance increased to 35%.
    • Pyromancy now does initial damage like Cryomancy in addition to a DoT
    • Cryomancy now has additional DoT damage like Pyromancy in addition to initial damage
    • Pyromancy DoT now leaves a massive -Cold Resist debuff
    • Cryomancy DoT now leaves a massive -Fire Resist debuff
    • Added Dimensional Shielding AA
      • While active, the Wizard will be immune to spellcasting interruption
    • Mana Burn\Blast\Blaze & Volatile Mana Blaze rebalanced
      • Consumes 10/20/30/40% of the player's total mana pool and converts it instantly to damage.
      • Mana Burn\Blast\Blaze\VMB no longer consumes mana or triggers a cooldown when used on a target which cannot be Mana Burned again yet.
      • With full Hastened Mana Burn AA, Reuse on all four abilities 15 minutes.
      Magician
    • Increased Fire Focus on Heart of Flames to 100%
    • Increased Fire Focus on Fire Core to 150%
      Bard
    • Scaled up DD Focus songs to 10x (still randomized)
    • Songs with a 3 second base cast time have been lowered to 2.5 seconds.
      Shaman
    • Languid Bite AA effect will stack with all buffs.
    • Rabid bear now gives 15/20/25% hundred hands effect instead of haste
    • Spirit of the Leopard now lasts for 3 minutes and is no longer a short duration buff.
      Beastlord
    • Bestial Alignment AA effect will stack with all buffs.
    • Blood Frenzy corrected.
      Cleric
    • Divine Avatar AA effect will stack with all buffs. (Stacking limits to certain effects apply)
      Pets
    • Pets with taunt off ACTUALLY, REALLY, FOR REAL are ignored by Rampage
    • Corrected Literally Unplayable typo in /pet health output
    • /pet health aliases added -> /pet stats /pet inventory etc
    • Added /pet assist command (on\off toggle available). When this mode is enabled, pet will follow owner's autoattack & damaging spell targets, as well as automatically assist any pet with taunt on if the assisting pet has taunt off
    • Added popup stats window to /pet health output
    • Added chat inventory output to /pet health
    • Added support for some multi-word pet commands; notably /pet get lost
    • Pet taunt and aggro generation revised.
      • Pet taunt always succeeds to put them at the top of hate list (with a smaller buffer than players get from the Taunt skill, which can fail)
      • Pets withtaunt on inherit ALL of their owner's aggro (before aggro-reduction modifiers), and having a pet in this state reduces their owner's aggro by 50%.
      • Net result is that solo players will not take aggro from mobs as long as their tank pet is alive, and grouped players will not have perfect aggro on their tank pet (but can generate enough aggro cumulative with the tank pet to make pet tanking in groups viable)
    • Pet Illusions survive zoning
    • Petamorph wands can target individual pets.
      Tradeskills
    • There is now a higher minimum chance to skill-up when performing a tradeskill combine.

yeah wiped to gimped zeb at 8% on my first solo attempt. still not a cakewalk, and the dps check is going to weed out quite a few class compositions, but it's certainly more viable for me than 4/4 seru was during luclin (albeit that was before dru/heal/dot buffs).

two enchanted augs as loot for me, and some other solo's have gotten legendaries/the vortex, so the loot isn't as gimped like 1-3/4 seru.

What is your class combo?

I tried taking down the weak version (Druzzil help) as an SK/Shm/Rog with BiS (>4400 AC) and got smacked down twice on the first add. This encounter is so horrendously overtuned, it is absurd. None of us want to be grouping for one mob in the game.
dru/mnk/rog w/ no pet. first phase is really tame for me (no discs/cooldowns needed), as all adds hit for the same max hit, so it's just managing whatever their abilities are. you can probably practice against zeb + the first add to get comfortable with tanking two and then just reset with FD if you need to. i had a decent amount of experience from trying to do the hard fight solo previously, and easy mode zeb + add combination almost feels like phase 1 zeb alone on hard mode.

phase 2 i feel like you might be able to just eek it out with loading him up with dots after the pop mob dies, then shaman hundred hands, the right order of discs, and w/e the hell sk does dps-wise should bring it over the line.

phase 3 is a slog of shit for me as a paper tank (though i did notch another kill with only 20k hp / 1321 mit earlier), but you might be alright with having an actual tank class in your comp. it's similar to blind rage rallos but obviously another degree of difficulty higher due to the mechanics of the phase and zeb in general having 15 heroic strikethru (which effectively negates all hdex/hagi for defensive skill purposes).

good luck to anyone trying. it's definitely do-able, but you need to be able to burst dps at one point. funnily enough, the combination i'm seeing struggle the most is bst/mag/nec, so good for them for getting a taste of everyone else's experience for once.

Well, burst is not the forte of SK/Shm/Rog. It is more of a slow and steady burn with reasonable sustain.

The way you describe it makes me want to just skip it altogether.

caught a few things from the q&a today-
-ssf tentative june 20 (likely will miss this by a few weeks)
-dungeon finder early august. finder in this case means a solo/group queue that it'll spin up a random dungeon (classic dungeons only initially) that scale the mobs/drops based on those in queue, and will likely have some sort of reward points/currency for completing them. no "matchmaking", potential for custom/fabled encounters.
-clicky effect persistence bag pushed to july 4th
-some fat buff coming to dots
-there's strong consideration for replacing the effects on epic 1.5/2.0's with AA's from later expansions

also there's a new(?) db website at EQDB - The Heroes Journey Database Search that has more filters in general and is limited to just the current server era for information.

First I have seen advertised. Someone is selling the super weapon for 1.8 mil plat for the whole package of combine items.

That is a heck of a lot of plat!

for the amount of plat to get it i think it is quite underwhelming, and devs have said its more of a prestige item then an OP one

it's not that expensive to make it yourself as long as you're able to farm seru 4/4 (mine was about 400k). the person offering this "deal" just also happens to be the person that's been trying to price fix the seru augs for weeks, and so they're listing it at their basement-dweller price point.

the dagger/bow are worth it right now for rogues/rangers if you can afford the cost, and i imagine most of the other forms of the wep will be worth it after they buff the stats with the next patch. the divide between the vortex weapon and the pop BiS weapons will also likely widen once the hStr change (1 hStr = 1% increase in autoattack dmg) goes live as well.

Sorry for super dumb questions in advance, but I made another toon to play around with and I need bard help.....

  • I am BRD/MNK/ROG....laugh away, I like trying funny shit
  • What is spawning all the little rabbits? I can't find an AA or anything that claims to do that
  • How many beneficial bard songs can i play? I see them all in the buff window and so far Im up to 7(level 25) and once i play them they seem to last until I zone
  • How many detrimental bard songs can I play? Do they also last forever? I cannot figure out how to see which ones I am playing at any given moment. Is that possible?
  • The monk round kick, tiger claw, eagle claw....worth it? difference between eagle/tiger since they share a timer?

For the record, I never even touched bard back in the EQ day

dru/mnk/rog here and i thought about swapping to this combo back when druids sucked (now they very much don't suck), i expect it's a lot of fun as long as you can keep yourself alive.

someone else will have to help with the bard q's, but
-the rabbits are swarm pets that proc as a result of the serverwide "bunny backup" buff that came with the easter event. they'll go away after the event ends tomorrow, but if you want to get rid of them beforehand you can just find the buff icon, right click it, and then block the spell.
-for kicks/strikes, you generally want to use the one ability with the highest skill value, and in the end this winds up being tiger claw and flying kick.

and then if you aren't already doing it- a big quality of life thing to enable for mnk/rog is autoskill for your autoattacks so you don't have to mash kick/strike/bs every few seconds. should just be #autoskill enable backstab / flying kick / tiger claw.

I noticed with my pet classes the pet attack only sends whatever pet I'm looking at in my pet window now instead of multiple. Was that a change as well?
