Patch today. Massive buff to dots and hstr +1% for auto attack, among other things. Not bad.

edit: also, the Vortex weapons got a big buff apparently, but haven't seen new stats yet.

Nice of them to keep buffing Shamans and Druids for the past few months.

Meanwhile, Clerics...

clerics are balanced around war/bst/clr afaik, they are very strong in that compo so they pretty much get ignored

shm was strong in nothing though, it was just a weak class, and druids only really became popular because mag/dru/ench soloed zeb

DRU definitely wasn't in a good spot a few months ago and Shamans needed a couple tweaks. But SHM strong in nothing? SHM/SK/ROG has been probably the defacto "perfectly balanced" combo since THJ started. It has never been in a bad spot and has been some variation of top 5 combos since the start.

But with all the buffs to both priests lately, they roughly do what a CLR does now, but with a shitload more utility. SHM already had better defensive AAs than CLR, but they also bring DoTs, slow, mala, etc. DRU is now in a similar boat, just without the slow/resist debuffs. But they also add well to caster comps.

Like you said, CLRs basically only fuel WAR/BST now. I probably wouldn't even use them in a RNG setup anymore, with the nerfs to DA and the fact they gave SHMs/DRUs are more defensive version of it with better uptime, but less damage mod %.

Still no where close to pet builds in utility, ease of use, and shear DPS.

yeap, any combo that includes war/mnk, double rip, and a damage amp AA is pushing 100k+ dps burns right now. petcucks are mostly still sitting in their chair wondering why zeb doesn't just fall over for them (though a few have been getting through).

shm just scale extremely bad

the stat buffs, slow, regen, huge at low level, don't do shit at high end

malo AA is extremely low value when the mob is immune to slow

Canni IV is a fixed amount of hp that doesn't scale at all

SHM stat buffs are not even worth casting if it wasnt for the tiny HP buff on this server. All stats are capped. Now if their buffs also buffed H-stats, then they would be something, but they dont. Slow and malo do its thing on SOME bosses, of course most are immune. Malo lands on everything and it does help with landing the dots and such. But still slow/malo serve their purpose on trash/adds and especially in POP where they love to throw tons of trash/adds at you during progression, the slow and AOE slow did its thing. Never ever used canni, no need because at least for me, mana has never been a problem, even with the 2-2.5 mill hp boss fights in lucy.

Its all about that bear form for shammys. Which buffs your attack, buffs your str and dex (overcap) gives you a HoT and basically is on 80% of the time.

They also get a fuckload of defensive cooldown AAs.

Shamans are awsome now. The slow from dot Ticks land on everything. Quarm, RZ, Lord Inquistor etc. The defensive AAs are great, dots do some damage and so does the pet. My Pal/Mag/Shm feels very good now (nothing compared to meta builds). Very tanky and the DPS isn't abysmal anymore.

Yea, my SK/Shm/Rog just solo'd 4/4 Seru with ease last night due to the new changes. Used CanniAA a few times, but finished the fight with 30% mana or so.

I fought killed Quarm without using a shield for the first time as well.

They are indeed nice changes.

Shaman getting more love today.

Shaman
• Shaman heal over time spells have had their cast times halved and durations doubled.
• Tnarg's Mending has had it's cast time reduced and base mana cost and effectiveness adjusted.

Im sure there is still peeps around but this is 99% a solo server. Guild chat was mostly empty and dry on most days.

I lasted in an “uber guild” in EQ for a couple / few months. 😜 circa somewhere between 2001-2003.

Even being early 20s I couldn’t keep up (nor care to) with the nerds who played nonstop and expected you to also.

Expectation to raid X amount of nights in the middle of the week until like 3-4 AM eastern time sometimes. Meanwhile I had a full time job and social life. Waking up at 6:30-7 AM with 2-3 hours of sleep then they wanted you to play it all again the same night. Realistically I probably did this maybe 10-15 times total and said fuck this.

Also it was just incredibly boring to raid the same slog over and over again. The zones with a lot of trash, etc. just hours and hours to get to something. I can’t even stomach farming on this server and it’s super casual.
A little late joining this thread, just like most things in the game. (^_^) Would drop my account every time a deployment came up, (military) then come back to the game and another expansion was out. This server I can experience some of the zones I missed because you needed a group for them and all the groups were playing the new content.

Started here with a mage/monk. Was going to try and keep just the 2 but several levels later added necro mostly for the lifetap proc. Wish I'd kept it just the 2 to try it for the challenge.

Usually went mage as my main back in the day because it was least dependent on needing uber gear to still raid at high levels. But required a good chunk of time to start: summon pet, summon food/water, summon weapons/armor for pet and self, etc. Then med mana back up.

Only ever got mage and cleric into the 50's. Cleric on the FV server where fewer things were no-drop so all the plat the mage saved could outfit the cleric to take some hits if/when he pulled aggro.

Was a little concerned here about the fast leveling. Like to slow down and enjoy some of the low end content. But being able to shunt the exp to AA's for later halps solve the problem. also the global speed buff makes trying to level a rogue type more enjoyable. Going to try one soon, gave up on it back in the day as S/H moved at such a crawl.
