trailer calls it unprecedented, but looks pretty much the same as Restrepo
could be wrong and it could be totally different

Let me save you the trouble. It's bullshit. Saw a preview screening tonight in Chicago with both of the reporters in attendance along with a bunch of vets and some guys that were in the movie.

Typical "rah rah, america #1" propaganda nonsense with heavy doses of military fetishism and adoration and good ole' jingoism. It was extra amusing because the director told us right from the outset that this wasnt meant to be a political movie. The only thing worth watching it for is the battle scenes which arent that great to begin with. Disorganized combat and shaky camera filming soldiers firing at unseen assailants in mountain ridges. You dont know who gets hit, who's winning, whos losing, or anything really and shortly after you stop giving a fuck. You dont know these guys, the expositions on them are so brief that you cant develop any attachment for them and so you dont care when they die.

If you've seen Restrepo, you've seen this movie, but this one is lousier.

Memorable scene: One platoon clears a residential dwelling where on the wall there is a mural of a crossed RPG with an AK I think, didnt get that good of a look. The guy turns around to the cameraman and basically says something along the lines of that a mural of weapons of can be only done by bad people so they're gonna arrest and cart off everyone in this building for questioning. Men, women and presumably children as well. Ironclad logic.
