Last episode Maria/Tara from True Blood was pushing that they bring in tons of rapefugees because they apparently have nothing to do all day but basket weeve and flick their beans.

Yeah, I'm guessing the show is going to slow way down from here on out and have a bunch of unnecessary side-stories that weren't in the game, since they have to pad the remaining 75% of the game out over 3 seasons lol.

There's nothing likeable or believable about Ellie and it's hard to believe anybody would willingly follow her into battle (then again, I guess nobody really did).

Dina liking Ellie at all isn't even realistic. Dina's basically a total unicorn-goddess of a person who could have anybody she wants, and she's super-into this angry downsyndrome girl who never smiles and treats everyone around her like garbage? I dunno, just seems like there's a disconnect between the narrative and what we can see with our eyes. Isabel Merced never really looks at Ellie's actress like she actually likes her IRL, which adds to this effect. There's no chemistry between the actresses or the characters.

One thing I'll give the show credit for is that they've reined back on some of the pandering that was in the game. No "bigot sandwiches", the bigot-guy in question is allowed to actually redeem himself as a strong/noble guy who is actually crucial to their success rather than just a throwaway "garbage human" like in the game, Abby actually looks like a normal woman, Dina calls out Ellie's behavior sometimes instead of the story presenting her dickery like it's all justified because she's aggrieved, etc. I liked the "what a bunch of victims" line too.

The big Zombie seige was their attempt to hand wave Joel getting ganked by gigantor. Same bunch of faggots who defended the second game are coming out of the woodwork to defend the second season of this show. Sorry, this is shit and everyone knows it.

Lets ignore Joel's demise and all of the out of character mistakes that made that happen for a moment. You had Druckman pushing "Ellie is gay btw" and his little commie community full of mostly diversity hires somehow in the middle of BFE Colorado that deviates heavily from the first game from how it was portrayed. Again from the second game when the place suddenly had almost no white people, teen angst, gay angst, and the complete shitting on the character arcs of the first game. Complete subversion. You fags do realize the first game was largely mapped out by a successful female project lead who Druckman got forced out, right? Thats why Bill being gay was handled subtley in the game, vs Flaming Ron Swanson in the season one TV show (completely divorced from any interraction in the main storyline, so purely to push faggot shit on the audience). Its also why the first game DLC (and fully inserted into the show as is) was packed full of Ellie (barely a teenager at the time) and her shaniqua terrorist scissor buddy arc to drive home the whole "Ellie is gay and into diversity) message Druckman (under the guidance of Sarkeesian no less) was pushing.

He destroyed the most successful thing he has or will ever work on on the altar of social justice with the game series and he is doing exactly that again in season two. At least the extra inserts in season one had some gems (some of the Trish and Joel backstory, the old native american couple scene, and the added detail of the original military cities). But for every improvements, there were a bunch of nonsensical changes, almost all agenda pushing. Fat frumpy lady leading the rebels in St Luis anyone? Tommy married to a black "judge" who is into communism and had to have been early 20s to be a judge prior to the apocalypse? Joel's daughter being clearly black for "reasons" ? The cannibals being a note for note white "christian" group completely rewriting them from the game? That horrible lesbian mall bullshit being expanded to take up an entire episode? All of the zombie action basically over three episodes into the series? I already mentioned of course the complete pointless rework of the Bill storyline. The whole first season was already on the trajectory we are seeing now, with the added bonus of 5 foot hundred pound women beating up full grown men and zombies left and right. The whole town siege was just an attempt to sucker in the normies for what they knew was going to crater the ratings, the Joel Golf, because they decided to blow the whole wad by episode two apparently. And lets not get into the fetal alchy syndrome downy better deal Zellweger that is Bella Ramsey now being the sole holdover from season one being expected to carry the show. She is a giant charisma vacuum and now is basically shitting up the media rounds with her low rent Ellen Paige routine.

The first season was bearable because Pedro (and Trish for a while), but there is nothing worth watching in season two. And the reason you guys are getting little to no pushback in this thread is because literally everyone with at least Chuk levels of entertainment assessment are not even bothering to watch. Hell, the only reason I dropped by was because I saw you faggots engaging in a bunch of revisionist history and if recent events have shown us anything its that you can't let open faggotry go unchallenged or it leads to problems later on. In this case more Made for Netflix bullshit being made. But you guys do you. Have fun with the further adventures of Tardface Box Muncher and Gigantor Jr in a world unfull of zombies...

How could you like that? In the game Bill being gay was completely subtle and understated. Most of the interaction was getting the car battery in a town packed with zombies because Bill owed Joel a favor from his raiding days. It was about the intense crawl through town and into the school, with the bloater attacking at the end. Bill and Ellie talking shit the entire time was in there. The show? Fucking Hallmark Presents Two Faggots who Joel comes to loot after they are long dead. Zero direct impact on the main story and no real interactions that grow out Ellies character. No filling in the blanks on some of Joel's checkered past. Zero. And most importantly not one fucking zombie to be seen to remind everyone that yeah this is a zombie apoc show with real danger and stakes. The entire episode may as well have never existed, as far as advancing the story is concerned. Druckman was basically like "well the subtle messaging the original creator put in is not obvious enough, I better do everything short of Ron Swanson smoking pole on screen to drive the agenda home" and also basically completely isolated everything from the main story interaction.

These shows have ten fucking episodes, if that. Wasting them on disconnected vanity side show Emmy bait that has no direct connection to the main plot is not something you can do in that structure, gay shit aside. Back in the 26 episodes a season era, yeah you can fuck around and do some one offs. When you got ten episodes to translate 20 hours of story into, you cannot fuck about on side shit.

Yeah a lot of the Bill section was the gameplay crawl across town and starting the truck at the end. Most of the lore bits were tucked in written notes left around by Bill and his pal. The interactions with the trio were good for filling in some back story and kind of building up Ellie (not that Derpface could act that part well enough to matter), so they probably should have cut that whole part out, honestly. But Druckman wanted his Gay Bear Zombie apoc bros, so we got that fucking abomination.

Another thing that irked me was them fleshing out the raider gang in the city where they met the two black brothers. The cut a FUCKLOAD of character building exposition to make room for somehow fatty woman gang leader shit and inserting the bullshit to create a relationship between the older brother and her, which was completely not needed. Its like he actively sabotaged a well written black character (two no less) to push this girl boss body positive mugwump that was not even vaguely hinted at in the game. Or the sewer part being completely gutted. How Druckman was given so much control is beyond me.
