They've built a great setup for totally justified and righteous violence as she gets revenge, they just have to give us payoff. I don't know the game story, so no idea if payoff is coming. But the pipe scene made up for a whole lot of silly lesbianism

Season 4 might be iffy. I expect if season 2 ends where I think it will, and season 3 picks up with Abby's side, nearly all the remaining audience will dip out at that point.
In the game, you're not waiting a year between chapters so you stick with it to see where it will go, and the gameplay keeps you invested from moment to moment. It's gonna be interesting to see if the watching audience sticks with it.

I’ve played through twice and loved it - but I played the game after all of the bug fixes, everything I’ve read here and elsewhere said it was a clusterfuck at release. But it was a hell of a lot of fun once fixed and I wish it would get a sequel.

Thanks, I'll probably pick it up on the summer steam sale. Can't imagine it's going to be more than $10 or something at this point.
I just played through it right before S2 of the show started, and I really enjoyed it. I had already been spoiled on the two big things - that Joel dies and you play as Abby for a huge chunk of the game, but wanted to experience it for myself before the show colored my perceptions of it.
The hate that it got was entirely unjustified. Most of the hate was pre-release when Naughty Dog's servers were compromised and game files and unfinished cinematics leaked online out of order and with no context.

Worth it. The horde mechanic was a lot of fun, and I liked the story / upgrading the bike. I think they remastered it once for PS5 / PC?

I also find Bella repugnant in this role, but all these comments on her face just seem distasteful and mean spirited, even by foh standards. It’s one thing to mock someone for being fat or something else they have control over. This chicks been ugly her whole life and it probably contributed to her gender identity mental illness stuff. I’d probably kill myself if I was a girl and looked like that because it’s not even a fixable thing. It’s really almost as bad as making fun of someone for having downs. Just tacky and kinda sad

They have some brilliant shit like the smart ones mimicking children's voices or the hospital basement being unnerving, horrifying and amazingly done with practical effects and consequences for every survivor if it becomes the norm, but its surrounded by a story I am totally not interested in.
I love the world but I don't love the story. Getting Tommy there after the fact changes his character and not in a good way. It's to bad, there is a lot of workable shit.
As for Bella Ramsay, she is a great actress that isnt great to look at. I am not going to meme on it, its not her fault, maybe they coulda picked someone different, but the acting side of it isn't an issue, she doesn't control the writing.
