Show makes me mad.

They have some brilliant shit like the smart ones mimicking children's voices or the hospital basement being unnerving, horrifying and amazingly done with practical effects and consequences for every survivor if it becomes the norm, but its surrounded by a story I am totally not interested in.

I love the world but I don't love the story. Getting Tommy there after the fact changes his character and not in a good way. It's to bad, there is a lot of workable shit.

As for Bella Ramsay, she is a great actress that isnt great to look at. I am not going to meme on it, its not her fault, maybe they coulda picked someone different, but the acting side of it isn't an issue, she doesn't control the writing.
Reminds me of Walking Dead. I don't know how people lasted as long watching that shit as they have.

I still haven't attempted this season of Last of Us. It sounds like I should probably just skip it entirely.

I also find Bella repugnant in this role, but all these comments on her face just seem distasteful and mean spirited, even by foh standards. It’s one thing to mock someone for being fat or something else they have control over. This chicks been ugly her whole life and it probably contributed to her gender identity mental illness stuff. I’d probably kill myself if I was a girl and looked like that because it’s not even a fixable thing. It’s really almost as bad as making fun of someone for having downs. Just tacky and kinda sad
Imagine if Danny devito tried to play Romeo or Superman, you think he would have got shit on for it?

What is sad is that she actually got cast for the role. She should not have been cast for this role. All of the teasing is pretty much a reaction to that fact. You notice that she did not get teased at all during Game of Thrones. In fact she did a great job in that role. There are roles that would suit the actress. She can act and does a pretty good job with what she is given. Some people go overboard with it, but I blame the producers more than the people teasing her.

If they would have just rewritten the story to include Joel until the end of the story, and perhaps cast a more appropriate actress to play the role of Bella, this would have been a major hit for MAX. As it is, it hits and misses with making the large error of killing off the actor everybody enjoyed watching. Now we get to see him in a flash back.....idiots.

They should have replaced her with an adult looking actress when the child part was over like house of dragons did. Saved us all from the I'm a dad bullshit.

Walking dead was boring. I don't really think I am bored watching any of these, which is more out of new shows to watch and it takes an hour of time, then just being baffled at some of the decisions. Like I knew Ellie and Dina would end up together since I knew the story of the game, and as actresses they play off each other well and do well with the writing they are given. But like they are in some dusty warehouse near or in Seattle which may as well be enemy territory and finally get into a relationship. Fine OK. But then they do a fingerbang scene right then and there. I was half waiting for a stalker to fuck em both up for being stupid.

Thats the shit I mean. Why this season is 7 episodes is something I wont understand. They could have had it 10, had more Joel, had the trip to Seattle take more then 15 minutes or built their relationship more. All we know of them prior to the season is, well actually nothing. No friendship stuff, no struggles or ups and downs. Like Ellie not knowing her best friend was from New Mexico at this point is really fucking strange.

Why Tommy doesnt take off after Abbey is a change I will never get. Now this shit is all on Ellie. It shouldn't be, and it erases Tommy being a weak useless old fuck next season or whenever they do it.

Like the revelation this past episode is the fungus has gone airborne. I know it always was in the game, but it was one of the choices I agreed with the show changing. They couldn't have had actor's in masks. So Ellie goes after Nora into the basement and its well executed, the set looks amazing and the music just flat stops. You know immediately what is happening down there and what it means for everyone on the show. Then you see what is expelling the spores and its straight fucked. Those people were not down there long as you learn at the start of the episode and its bad bad. It's one of those set pieces that should be celebrated by everyone but the surrounding shit is so all over the place that people just dont care and its too bad.

Every episode seems to have a scene or two that is like that. Weather its the subway, or Jeffery Wright torturing the Seraphite, the attack on Jackson, the two stalker scenes (particularly the second one). Hell I dint even mind Joel's death in the context of the show and how it was presented but they didn't do anything with it. It should have been straight out on the hunt fucking up the WLF and dealing with the Seraphites but it became a lesbian road trip that wasn't terribly exciting.

One thing I will say is, Nora obviously didn't know the cure to come from Ellie would have been made by killing her. I don't know if that is a change from the game as I didn't play it, but it could provide some potentially good stuff later on.
