The decision to do an Abbey season is Sylas level thinking and its retarded.
I am sure they will end up finishing this series, its too big with too many big names attached as producers / executive producers to not, but this will cause viewership to tank. ITs too bad its a well made show its just not good.

Wow this season and finale were horrible. Outside of episode 2 nothing really happens. Just 6 episodes of Ellie being a little whiney bitch and a stupid love story that does nothing for the show. I still don’t know the point of the cult nor did they give them any kind of backstory. They couldn’t even give it a good cliffhanger ending. Definitely not watching the next season.
It also doesn’t storm like that here in Seattle. We don’t get thunder or lightning and heavy rain like the show had. Just dumb.

Basically:
-In the game, they forced you to play as an unsympathetic protagonist (She-Hulk) for a large part of the game and it turned people off.
-In the show, they do the same thing in reverse by having the unsympathetic protagonist be a super mis-cast Ellie.
-And speaking of mis-casts and doing the opposite, they cast a small feminine young woman to play Abby, which goes so far in the other direction that now it's sort of hard to believe that all these tough hardened people around her are willing to follow her and do whatever she says.
I mean I like Abby's actress, but every time she's onscreen I feel like she would have been a much better Ellie, and wonder how exactly she gained the fealty of all these tough as nails people.
And of course most of the problems with the show stem from how unlikable Ellie's casting is.
Have Abby's actress play Ellie, have someone a bit rougher play Abby, and instead of having S2 and S3 each follow one of them, split time between them in S2 and have events lead up to the Joel encounter so the audience gets more time with Joel.

Seeing her as Ellie isnt a mistake. She was cast as Ellie when The Last of Us was going to be a movie, but it was canceled.

I'm with you, Fuck Ellie, but the whole reason Abby and her mad scientist child murdering father wanted Ellie is cause she was so valuable.
The whole reason they tracked down Joel and killed him brutally was cause he prevented them from doing this.
Then she's back - that ""cure"" they've been waiting for. That ""cure"" they were willing to kill a child for. That ""cure"" they were so enraged Joel took from them. So what do they do?

That was just to set up the village location and explain where all the soldiers were off to. The part that had me eye-rolling was
Ellie capsizes in the boat, unbelievably survives storm waters with heavy clothing/backpack without drowning. Then five minutes later she thinks, "There's no way I capsize again, right? Round 2."
