They have the Mighty Nein series and also some miniseries. Given the Xerxus stuff I'm guessing they will indeed adapt Calamity for the first of those

Last 3 episodes were meh, Ep 9 was a false climax sort making the following 3 feel hollow. Also, as usual, invalidates what happened earlier in the season. Can't have meaningful consequences in media when there's more seasons to make!

I knew they didn't have the balls, that said I enjoyed the 4th chapter or whatever you want to call it

binged through the season, i mostly enjoyed it although I wish death was a bit more permanent in the show it felt cheap what they did and makes the characters less important. I didn't love the villain-behind-the-villain stuff, I think it could have been done way better.

Most of the episodes felt like solo/duo adventures which sucked, it ruins the whole party D&D vibe of the show. Scanlan's songs really, really sucked this season compared to past seasons.

All in all a solid 6/10, not as good as previous seasons but it basically was a super, super expensive 90s saturday morning kids cartoon with swearing. They leaned way more into relationships vs solid D&D this season which is a bummer. Grog just being a self powered hammer and not much else all season was a bummer.

Yea, I enjoyed up until the main dragons death far more than I did after the main dragons death. Those last 3-4 episodes were just kind of "meh" to me.

It's a show based on a game where it's not super hard to get resurrected.

Yeah I was surprised they took so long. Like, can't the fucking cleric do that? Hell, even bards get a rezz spell.

Well apparently I'm the only super cool guy (read: dweeb) who both remembers the original tabletop session and also watches side content like this:

At 18:30 they address it, and the TLDR is that tabletop Percy did indeed die during the fight with Ripley and was then promptly revivified, no big deal - but they (as TV show runners) decided to stretch that out for a more dramatic impact. Seems they failed on that front, at least with the ol' FoH crew.

I'm torn. I thought the Ancient dragon fights were meh at best. The solo killing of the Frost Dragon by lesbian fighter after he literally tore up a major demon was dumb.
If they bring Vecna back for the final season I have serious doubts they get him right

vecna was in vox machina?
From what I understand, the "whispered one" in season one is Vecna. They just couldn't use the name Vecna because Wizards of the Coast is a bunch of dicks and cant see free marketing potential when it presents itself.

Would be cool to see a good story with Vecna, Kas, St Cuthbert and Iuz though. Great way to end it if they could do it right

So he was just on screen briefly? I don't even remember that part of the story. Had to do some googling. The lichs who took over whitestone manner powered themselves up by pledging themselves to him. They were trying to summon him and vox stopped them.

It would have been more meaningful if I knew that was vecna.

not exactly that. but for Matt and the team to SELL Exandria, they needed it to be unique. they couldn't sell it as a product while using the dnd names. hell, wotc did end up just collabing and selling exandria stuff.

and yes, Vecna was in s1. The game STARTED in pathfinder. sessions 1-10 iirc? before it even started airing. So, in game this resulted in some OP items being on the team, and Pike being a cleric of Sarenrae.

so they swapped to DND and started using DND gods and demons, etc. But, as it got popular and they started crafting the Exandria books, they swapped to the fake names. Stormlord, everlight, platnium dragon, Dawnfather instead of Sunfather for Pelor.
I THINK after they made the deals with WOTC, they swapped back to actually using the dnd names. its just they got used to using the titles, so kept it for flavor.
