I haven't seen BvS but just from what people are saying about it that seems like a pretty stark contrast in styles of the same character to serve up to an audience in one sitting. The marketing guys at Warner Brothers are making some odd choices with their super hero properties.

I definitely thought it was a weird choice. It wasn't out of place since it was obviously a DC & batman movie, but it was an oddly lighthearted thing to see before the movie where we are about to see the 180 degree spin on the character.
