RIP Lemmy. The first Motorhead song I ever heard was Lost Johnny. A buddy and I used to have a running gag argument over which version was better. I was a huge Hawkwind fan and he had heard the Motorhead version first.

Pretty new stoner/doom/psychedelic metal band from England. Sound sorta like Kyuss and Tool.

Digging the absolute shit out of these guys right now. They're copping AC/DC (and a bit of Jackyl) but who the hell cares? It's bitchin' 80's arena metal, and it kicks ass.

I liked a few of Vovod's earlier album but I'm actually more excited to see Vektor. I found out about them in this thread. The best thrash I've heard in a looongg time.

Honest talk, what is the fascination with Ghost? I've really tried listening to their stuff but it's boring as hell. Is it a hipster thing or?

oblig:
Absolution and Cirice fucking rock. I think people like them because they have catchy songs and are interesting to watch perform.

The new Obscura is out and it absolutely rapes my ass. The new guitarist plays a fretless guitar on a few tracks too. I've heard of fretless basses but never a fretless guitar in metal.
