think they took a break around 2012-13 and maybe played a couple of shows until 2017 when they basically called it after the bass player died, but returned to playing in 2022.

He'd been pretty loudly hating on the band lately... So when I heard he died I thought he either drank himself to death or blew his brains out.

At least going out on your steed seems more badass?

Really dig Mastadon's sound, especially the drums. Saw them a few times the most memorable being the Exit 111 festival in Manchester TN (2019?). Was so damn cold it drove me sober.

That's exactly what I thought when I first saw the headline. Sucks either way though.
