I really enjoyed this. Although I admit I probably won't ever watch it again. To be honest, I never rewatched any of the others except the original. But definitely had some good laughs throughout.

Finally saw this. Definitely in the spirit of the first. Had some really good laughs just a few minutes in so I knew it'd probably be worth my time. I'd say the last 15 or 20 minutes were a little less funny and more hacky than the rest of the movie, but overall great.

I'd give it an 8.5/10. Definitely recommend it to people who liked the old movies or love screwball type movies.

I thought she looked disgusting and her acting wasn't great. I hate the new Hollywood idea of trotting these old used up hags out and pretending people still want to look at them.

If it's some dumb woman centric show like sex in the city who cares. But if you are marketing to men you better to better than a washed up 60yo Hollywood whore.

I thought they did a great job keeping the "spirit" of the original. It's impossible to replicate Leslie, but I appreciate them trying to keep comedies like this alive. I agree that it's a solid 8/10 and I cracked up at several parts. The part where they just ram through the police barrier at the beginning of the movie is one of those little touches that made me crack the fuck up.

They really nailed the "dumb comedy" thing. I don't really want to call it slapstick, but just...stupid jokes? Not quite dad jokes. It's something where modern day "dumb comedy" just doesn't land. I wish I could describe exactly what it is. Calling them dumb doesn't really do it justice either.

But whatever the x factor is, they fucking knocked it out of the park.

Not only that, but they really had the gumption to stick with the jokes. I feel like a lot of writers would pull back on them, but they really just leaned into so many of them.

I think when people say it captures the feel of the original Naked Gun movies, this is what they're talking about. But no one can exactly describe with "it" is.

It's called a parody. There are serious shows in the same genre and these comedies just parody them. Like Get Smart making fun of James Bond, later copied by Mike Meyers who made a lot of money with the same dumb jokes.

It's a parody mixed with absurdist humor, like the hallmark "take a statement or word literally" gag
