coming April 28th to Paramount+, based on a book, the behind the scenes story of how The Godfather was made.


I'm always down for anything to do with Godfather, although I'm not sure if a behind the scenes is really that good when I ... can just watch the real movie? I know there are some crazy stories about mob involvement, studios, Francis Ford Coppola's eccentricities, etc. The trailer looks a little corny but hopefully thats just trailers being trailers.

Visuals, costumes, set pieces, cars, etc all look great. Love 70s period pieces.

first 3 episodes have dropped on Paramount+, critics don't seem to like it though

I'm most of the way through the 3rd episode and it's really good. Not sure if any of it is real but it's really entertaining.

This faded as it went on, the plot was paper thin and they probably didn't need so many episodes.

The guy playing Bob Evans was the best part

I watched this over the last couple of nights and REALLY liked it. So good. What a pleasant surprise. I can't remember a series where I was pulling for everyone by the end. The movie itself, the characters, the historical portrayals.

Everyone should watch this.

This is an odd post considering everyone knows the outcome - that the film was/is recognised as one of the all time greats.

The last episode was the worst of the lot because we all know the outcome. It's a 6/10 show at best

Honestly I can't answer that. I don't know anything about the status of dog fucking in the 1970s :)

I'm still pissed you wouldn't tell me a healthy go-to snack when I'm starving at night and trying to lose/not gain weight.

Loving this. Barely two episodes in. Mario & Coppola are amazing. I see the actor for Mario almost like Pauly from Rocky.

Fun fact: as a kid we flew all the way to NYC and stayed at the Sherry Netherland hotel. We got a free upgrade to this massive suite, had a grand piano, etc. All the art were Francis Ford Coppola movie posters. I know this doesn’t mean shit, but on the ground by the door was a small piece of crumbed paper that said “to: F F Coppola” it was some hotel message to him. I’m guessing this was his private suite in the hotel that they rent out when he’s not there. Pretty cool.
