The dumb bitch who plays Santos thinks if you don't like her character you're just a misogynist. But also in the article she says she enjoys playing a character who isn't nice and palatable.

What appealed to you about Santos at first? And how has your understanding of her changed or grown over two seasons?
I’ve played the girl next door before and there’s a time and a place for that type of character. But I think there’s something really awesome about not being palatable, especially as a woman. This character is not for everyone. Sometimes in my everyday walking through the world, I’m like, “Sorry… Little old me, I’ll make myself smaller.” And Santos simply will not do that. She’s like, “I am going to take up space.” And I think that’s a really refreshing character to see and powerful to play. It’s also a reminder for me to stop apologizing for existing. My god.

There’s a not small subset of diehard Pitt fans who hate Santos. What do you think drives that?
So much of the discourse is very Langdon-versus-Santos, and that’s just misogyny. [Those two characters] are actually kind of the same, but one of them is a woman. When women are going through something that is not explicitly said all the time, a lot of people are like, “I don’t like her.” Why is it when, when a woman has a lot going on, people are like, “Oooh, scary”? A lot of people don’t have the patience for that with a woman. But I also get that Santos comes in hot. When you first meet her, she’s got a lot of these prickly walls up. She has a “doesn’t play nice at recess” vibe. But also, I think it’s very clear to see in the nuance of her character there’s something going on.

Those 2 contradictory quotes are back to back...

Yes, when men have things going on that are not explicitly said all the time, a lot of people are like, "I like him!" and not..."What a fuckin' pussy!". Totally...

It doesn't sound contradictory to me. She says yes, Santos is a bit of an asshole, but people would be more tolerant if it was a man. May or may not be true, but I don't see it as contradictory.

I don't think thats what that says, in the first quote she's saying she knows Santos is unlikeable thinks thats "refreshing." Then literally says in the next paragraph that if they like Langdon's character more than hers (when Langdon is likeable, but he's an addict) - she thinks the only reason that could be is because he's male.

Or it could be because he's not a fucking bitch to everybody. Maybe. Possibly.

Langdon was a bit of a dick in Season 1. He's definitely been humbled this season though. Hopefully we will see some character development with Santos as well.

And here I figured she was acting like an asshole. Turns out that's just her personality.

Her "everyone is raping little girls" and "don't trust any men" schtick is so obnoxious.

Anyway, I meant to say it in my last post, but the conclusion to season 2 just felt like kind of a letdown. It was very anticlimactic. I also kind of dislike that they've chosen to end both seasons with all these fucking people hanging out together after work. I can't imagine after a 15 hour shift that you'd want anything to do with any of them.

I didn't even think this was the end of the season, I thought for sure there's one more episode.

They do a lot of questionable things with the show, but I can't help but agree with you that its one of the best done shows I've ever seen, it's fucking riveting.
