Renny Harlin has really fallen on hard times. There was a point where he was getting big action budgets, no how he fits with this.

Hes one of the quintessential obsurd action movie directors that made shitty but decent action movies from 1988 to 2003 - Shit you would watch on saturday afternoons on WGN, TBS, FX, etc

I just finished rewatching it and it really only has a couple effective scenes in the entire movie. There have been a lot of movies in this vein that have done this kind of thing better or in more interesting manner.

Yeah, I think you wrapped up my sentiments exactly. I saw the thread and was like yay the one movie sequel we never asked for, so exciting! Keep it up Hollywood, you're doing a bang-up job.

I just watched Chapter 1 and 2 back to back - they're awful. (I'd rather rewatch Scream 6, and that was a fucking slog).

The redhead (Madelaine Petsch) is good looking, but that didn't come remotely close to making these worth watching. So far the only good one was the first one with Liv Tyler.

Holy shit was this bad. The others weren't good, but this is easily the worst of all 5 of the movies.

Just speaking about this trilogy, it was completely unnecessary and had almost no purpose. They tried to really give the backstory of the killers in this (Chapter 3) and besides it being dumb, horror movies are always worse when they try to give some backstory to the killers. The acting from everyone was dreadful.

The entire trilogy could have been one movie and it still would have been bad, but they could have gotten rid of 3-3.5 hours and at least made it "interesting".

Chapter 1 was just a remake of the original but worse.
Chapter 2 wasn't good at all, but in hindsight might have been the best one just because of how bad it was (especially the hog scene).
Chapter 3 was painfully boring and cliche - it hurt to watch this, I don't think there was anything redeemable with this one. Popeye the Slayer Man was better than this.

Absolute trash, and not in a good way. I was actually looking forward to seeing how bad this was, but it was just too boring to give a shit - I can't imagine having the mental fortitude to stay locked in and give a shit about what's happening in the story.
