Re: Leeds grad claims she was kicked out of gay club for complaining about 'Blurred Lines':
A better response than "Fuck off you silly bitch" would have been to just ignore the text message altogether.
I understand the "us vs them" mentality that's so popular nowadays leads some to believe the DJ was taking a stand, that he was essentially saying "We won't put up with your bullshit so stop trying to thought police us and just get out", making him a defender of freedom and warrior against oppression or something. Unfortunately, his action didn't accomplish shit, and almost certainly only increased tension and hostility in a conflict whose only feasible resolution must involve a decrease in tension and hostility.
"Fuck off you silly bitch" => Girl gets offended (with good cause), files complaints, gets the support of not only friends and reasonable people who think that's a shitty way to treat somebody, but also the hardcore SJWs who will see this as an attack that necessitates a response. Are they gonna try to get the DJ fired? Who knows, but we're certainly going to hear about it now that it's become a "news" story that both sides will use to support their essential narrative and to justify further animosity and confrontation.
Ignore text => Girl potentially realizes not everybody's going to bend over backwards to accommodate her feelings and that sometimes she will hear things that bother her. Worst case scenario, she later cries on her friend's shoulder about how the modern music scene is insensitive towards rape victims. Either way, there is no conflict, no click-baity "news" story, no call-to-arms for SJWs and anti-SJWs to double down on their judgmental condemnation of the other side, no increased tension and hostility pushing us ever-further away from any actual resolution.
Again, if your only goal is to fight, then that desire will override the logic and reason required to ACTUALLY SOLVE PROBLEMS.
