From the last seven to eight hundred of his posts in this thread, it's unclear to me what hodj's feelings on A Moon Bat are.

Quaid: "I'm generally not, but he had some things to say regarding supposed sexism in Mad Max. That video you posted had some references to points some critics (including you know who) had of the film. HULK tends to be pretty bleeding heart, but disagreed with their criticisms of the film.
Thought maybe you had read about it. It's an interesting topic because feminists seem split on Mad Max's content. Illustrates some pretty clear ideological lines."

I don't follow Twitter, which is why I was out of the loop.

Anyway, I read FemFreq's tweets on Mad Max and Crit Hulk's response, as well as this article which goes into more detail about Sark's criticism:
Anita Sarkeesian Is Wrong About Mad Max Fury Road
http://www.cheatcc.com/extra/madmaxrage.html

As I've mentioned before, Sark is pretty heavily biased and has trained herself to see sexism in pretty much anything. These responses to her Mad Max gripes were fantastic. They express disagreement through rational discussion of the points raised, using well thought-out counterarguments. Great criticism of Sarkeesian right here.

What I found more interesting, though, were these Hulk tweets:
- AND HULK THINKS THERE'S PROBLEMS IN SAYING "IT'S NOT FEMINIST" WHEN JUST ABOUT EVERY FEMINIST HULK KNOWS DISAGREES.
- BUT TO SOMEHOW TAKE THOSE DISAGREEMENTS AND USE THEM TO FOSTER YET ANOTHER HOSTILE DIALOGUE IS EQUALLY TROUBLING.

This is a textbook Tanoombism. This has been my stance since day one. Yet, if I remember right, you in particular expressed a strong distaste at my tendency to make this exact point. Did you feel as disgusted when Film Crit Hulk said it?

How shocking that Tanoomba would turn a talk about something else into a discussion about Anita Sarkeesian.

Yeah remember the whole "stop talking about them if you don't like them!".... Proceeds to change every conversation into one about them.

He only posted that video in the Mad Max thread SO he could then get an excuse to bring up the topic again.

he did what?
Posted a shitty video criticizing the pristine and unspoiled nature of Mad Max Fury Road in the thread reserved exclusively for the sacred worship of this powerful epic of mankind's struggle against the elements and xim/xerself.

Such heresy is unwarranted and should not go unpunished.

Fana: "Yeah remember the whole "stop talking about them if you don't like them!".... Proceeds to change every conversation into one about them."

Well, to be fair, I was responding to a post addressed to me that specifically referenced "she who should not be named". And the point being made didn't really have much to do with her. And the response was made in a thread dedicated entirely to filtering this kind of stuff from the mainstream. Not really sure what the problem is.

Erronius: "he did what?"

Absolutely NOT what was apparently being described. The EWW videos are great fun and a joy to binge watch. Consider yourself lucky that you've got a significant backlog to get through. They point out a bunch of little things you would likely have never otherwise noticed in memorable movies. If I remember right they started off doing lousy movies but also branched out into great/classic movies. The guy regularly does these videos for movies he truly loves and his work reflects that. The EWW Fury Road video wasn't a scathing put-down of the movie, it was a "let's try to pick apart what we already know is a fantastic movie for lulz" acknowledgment of its awesomeness. I honestly thought a bigger percentage of the viewership here would have known about EWW and expected that. I was actually trying to follow Quaid's advice and post more broadly appealing, non-controversial posts but it bit me in the ass anyway. It happens.
